Happy New Year!
Thursday, December 31, 2009 - 09:43 AM EDT

MacDailyNews wishes everyone a happy, healthy, and successful 2010!

If the rumors prove true, we could be just a few short weeks from finally seeing Apple's tablet (and maybe, along with other unknowns, some very interesting additions to iTunes Store).

Thank you very much for visiting MacDailyNews and for patronizing our sponsors, without whom we would not exist. As always, thank you for clicking our ads before buying at The Apple Store Online and other sponsors, as we get a small commission from each sale which helps to support MacDailyNews at no extra cost to you. We really appreciate your visits and feedback. Thank you!

To those who've sent us links: Thank you, thank you, thank you!

2010 could prove to be quite a year for Apple. We can't wait!

Dec 31, 09 - 11:00 am Comment from: Ampar

Happy New Year to everyone that can resist the puerile urge to make a political statement.

MDN was a fun place to scream and shout Apple's amazing accomplishments. And point out their failures.

2010. It's not binary.

And Avatar was a dumb, lovable and predictable story but the most spectacular movie (in 3d) I've seen. I hope 2010 is the year Apple embraces the potential.

Happy NY to MDN and thanks for being the hands down, best mac site of the decade (well, the last year or so but gives a fuc& about the rest of the decade when doing one of these lists!).

Keep up the laconicism, balmer baiting, dell dirt dishing and blind-eyed fan boy mac love through out 2010! We love it.

For those misguided people who seem to forget that this is "Mac Daily News" not Piss, Moan and Screed Daily News, I wish you better days ahead, because it must really suck being so full of vitriol.

2010: year of the tipping point (and, year of the tiger..)

Happy New Year from Godzone, where we were even snappier than Connor Macbook in getting there.

Here's to a year free of political and climate change posts (well, I can dream, can't I?).

Happy New to everyone and especially MDN.

Dec 31, 09 - 04:13 pm Comment from: Daily Dose Of Snark

The site is a little too Right Wing sometimes, but is always entertaining and informative. I like the snark, it's something that gets modded out on too many sites these days...

My wishes to everyone at MDN and all looking/lurking:
1- Hope everyone gets laid tonight.
2- Wish you well in the year coming.
3- Remember the men & women of our Armed Forces serving not just in combat but around the world. I remember spending a Christmas Day pulling guard duty in the cold in Germany many years ago. It wasn't dangerous, but it was damn cold, lonely and a long way from my GF. Last time I checked the US Army has soldiers deployed in over 80 counties around the globe. Thanks, guys and gals for serving our nation.
4- For those unemployed I hope you find a great job, for those graduating later this year a great first professional job- no "fries with that?".
5- With a little luck maybe we can have a more peaceful nation and world this year.
6- A realization by ALL Americans that what we have as a people and nation in common is more and stronger than the issues that divide us and that WE ALL LOVE OUR COUNTRY- not just the Conservatives. We the godless liberals love America as well. I did 8 years in the Army & not because I lacked options.
7- Not a chicken in every pot, but an iPhone in every pocket and a Mac on every desktop for all, except Ballmer.
8- Health for the sick and injured.
9- A safe return for all our vets.
10- A shiny new Apple Tablet named Newton to go with all my other Apple stuff.

Dec 31, 09 - 04:30 pm Comment from: Sir Gill Bates

@ Daily Dose Of Snark,

Sounds good, but I think I'd ad "A cold beer in every hand, and a warm woman in every bed." Just a thought.

Dec 31, 09 - 04:34 pm Comment from: Jarrettdailynews

Can I trade that beer in for an extra woman? Twins even?

Dec 31, 09 - 04:46 pm Comment from: Islandgirl

Happy New Year to everyone that can resist the puerile urge to make a political statement.

Amen. Couldn't have put it better myself.

Hey Ampar, I'm going to see Avatar this weekend, too. I don't care that it's like "Dances With Wolves with 10-foot-tall blue people." I just want to see the cool special effects!

@Sir Gill Bates
Just speaking for myself, I'll pass on the "warm woman" idea for me but I'm with you on the beer, or maybe champagne. ; )

Dec 31, 09 - 04:48 pm Comment from: The Other Steve

Sorry but 2010 is just a rumor, wishful thinking based on nameless anonymous "well placed, top executive" sources.

Dvorak says 2010 is cracked and will never catch on.
Ed Colligan said 2010 isn't just going to walk in.
Ballmer just through a chair.

Dec 31, 09 - 04:49 pm Comment from: @ Sir Bill Gates

"1- Hope everyone gets laid tonight."
Since it's New Year's Eve, I guess everyone will have had the drink of their choosing many times by then and most of usually do the nasty in bed, so I thought that I pretty much had it covered.

As to the woman part, I will be with a warm woman but realize not everyone here is a) male & b) straight. I'm straight, but wish my GLBT friends happy hunting in their world tonight.

Sorry for that godless liberalism coming out, it just does.

Dude, by any chance are you Tiger Woods? smile

Dec 31, 09 - 04:53 pm Comment from: Sir Gill Bates

@ Jarrettdailynews,

You are a naughty fellow. But yes, yes you can.

Dec 31, 09 - 04:54 pm Comment from: @ Micro Me & Island Girl

I'm not sure if the political comment thing was about my post above which was non political to me. We lefties are more than a little tired of many on the right wing wrapping themselves in the flag like they are the only ones who love the country. Not saying anyone here has done it but we all see it every day.

BTW- everything is political. Saying you are a Red Sox fan or a Yankees fan or a Steelers fan or whatever is political.

Dec 31, 09 - 04:55 pm Comment from: Sir Gill Bates

@ Islandgirl,

Enjoy the movie, and also any form of bubbly beverage you partake in.

Dec 31, 09 - 04:58 pm Comment from: The Other Steve

Okay, so I can't spell threw. I'm too busy driving my innovation hard to double check thingks like that.

Happy New Year from Sunny Long Beach/Garden Grove CA!

Dec 31, 09 - 05:03 pm Comment from: Sir Gill Bates

Daily Dose Of Snark,

"1- Hope everyone gets laid tonight."

My bad. It's been so long I forgot what that meant.

And if you were truly Godless you would have included those with a penchant for our four legged friends.

Dec 31, 09 - 05:08 pm Comment from: Islandgirl

@ @ Micro Me & Island Girl

I was only agreeing with your sentiment.
Happy New Year to all.

Dec 31, 09 - 05:12 pm Comment from: Sir Gill Bates

@ The Other Steve,

"... Sunny Long Beach/Garden Grove CA!"

Thanks a lot. Rub it in, why don't ya.

Just kiddin' - have a good one. grin

@ Ampar,

"And Sigourney at 60 is still hot."

A lot of women that age are. It's from menopause.

Too bad you couldn't have announced a Happy Bissextile greeting. Sounds kinky, eh?

Dec 31, 09 - 07:20 pm Comment from: Ampar

Actually, Gill, I meant she continues to evoke an erection. Happy Intercalary? This just makes Jews and Aztecs dizzy.

Happy New Year MDN, you goofy bastard!

Dec 31, 09 - 11:41 pm Comment from: silverhawk

Happy New Year from sunny suburban Minneapolis, MN. Sunny means high pressure and cold Canadian air. It is currently 3 degrees fahrenheit on the way to -5 degrees. The high temperature on New Years day is forecast at +6 degrees. Oh, and we've only have one foot of snow on the ground. No wonder I'm a grumpy old man!

Best wishes in the New Years. Hope it goes great for everyone.
