Apple announces Black Friday ‘Joy to the Wallet’ special one-day shopping event on Nov. 24th
Tuesday, November 21, 2006 - 01:01 PM EDT

For one day only, this Friday November 24th, the Apple Store will have a special Black Friday shopping event, Apple has announced.

Historically, "Black Friday" has been a big day for The Apple Store. Apple traditionally keeps specific discounts and sale items a secret until the day of the sale.

This year's one day shopping event is called, "Joy to the Wallet." Pictured in Apple's graphics are such items as a Mac mini, digital camera, iPod, iPod nano, iPod shuffle, Nike+iPod Sport Kit, Apple keyboard, Apple Mighty Mouse, and more.

From iPods to Macs, Apple Store has the perfect gifts for everyone on your list. You’ll find the Apple Stores are stocked to the brim so you can take home anything you like the same day. What’s more, we’ve hand picked the top gifts for this holiday season to make your shopping experience even easier. If you have questions, just ask one of the Mac Specialists on hand to help you. They can recommend just the right gift for anyone on your list.

Don’t miss out. You’ll find the best gift ideas at great prices. But if you see any Apple hardware or software at a better price elsewhere, we’ll match that price: if you see Apple hardware or software for less at an Authorized Apple Reseller, we will match that price, up to 10 percent off the current Apple Store regular price (excluding sales tax, shipping, and all other fees, costs and services).

As reported by AppleInsider, "last year's sale included a $101 savings on iMac G5s and iBook G4s, as well as $30 discounts on JBL On Stage iPod Speakers and $20 savings on JBL Creature II Speakers. Similarly, Apple offered $100 off select Shure Sound Isolating Earphones, and $30 off its AirPort Express and iSight products. It also offered $5 discounts on select iPod accessories and price cuts on some software titles."

Probably means they'll have $100 on iMacs and MacBooks, as well as a few other deals. So basically everyone will get the educational discounts for that one day.

That's so unfair... Still no Apple Store in Switzerland, Germany and Austria....
I'd like to join that event and get some extra discount.
This is my 4th Mac (MacBook Core Duo) and I am a Mac user since 3 years only...
So where's my Macbook Pro Core 2 Duo? Wanna buy...
Please, Apple, offer some discount for the online store...
Oh boy, that would be nice.

Sry to be a pain, but does anyone know if the Educators Discount can be used in addition to the Black Friday discount?

MW: Sense. I'm trying to save some cents (I know it doesn't rly work)

Just called the Apple Store at the Grove in Los Angeles and they say the Education Discount is separate, you can't use both. Too bad, I was hoping to get a new iMac for 799. I can get the educational discount whenever.

whoa, dude, the grove is like the best apple store ever

but yeah, if you say you homeschool your goldfish you can get this discount year round, but only on apple stuff

So...Black Friday is November 23rd...not so much the 24th. Is this an old ad or did apple just really fuck up their advertising? I doubt that.
