Apple debuts new ‘nano-chromatic’ TV ad for 4th-gen iPod nano (with video)
Tuesday, September 09, 2008 - 03:13 PM EST

Apple today introduced the new fourth generation iPod nano, the thinnest iPod ever featuring a sleek new design with a curved aluminum and glass enclosure, in nine vibrant colors. The new iPod nano incorporates Apple's breakthrough Genius technology which automatically creates playlists from songs in your music library that go great together, with just one click. The new iPod nano also features a refined user interface, a high resolution portrait display and a built-in accelerometer which automatically switches to Cover Flow when rotated and automatically goes into Shuffle mode when lightly shaken. The new iPod nano gives users up to 24 hours of music playback or four hours of video playback and is available worldwide immediately in an 8GB model for just $149 and a 16GB model for just $199. Both models come in silver, purple, blue, green, orange, yellow, pink, (PRODUCT) RED and black.

Shake to shuffle. Nice.

But I'll eat crow, I insisted the nano was going touch..

Ah well, been wrong before, I'll be wrong again..

I'm quite surprised though that Apple hasn't found a way to get the App store on their best selling mobile device..

Maybe next generation.

So how long until someone makes a picture of the original apple logo using only new iPod nano 3g's?

I may be buying my first iPod now, I'm actually more excited by these than any previous models. My daughter has been begging for one all year too.

What a dopey commercial. MAC has no taste. I think when you compare smug elitist advertising like this one from MAC and the brilliant and insightful Gates/Seinfeld ads from Microsoft you can't help but get the feeling you're watching MAC go down in flames while Microsoft just soars higher with each innovative and revolutionary announcement. Yesterday's incredible Zune news has to be crushing to the copycats in Cupertino. Too bad for you, MAC dorks.

Very nice! Love the colors.

Oooh, PURPLE! YEAH. Finally! The perfect flash drive… :^)

It made me think about the original rainbow Apple logo, too.

Viktor...

The new Zune ad campaign will feature smeared excrement.

Microsoft brings scratch and sniff down to a different level.

It was Ballmer's idea.

Well, My 3rd Gen Fat Nano will be on eBay soon. I just ordered a 4th Gen.

I actually missed my 2nd Gen Nano when I sold it. I liked how the body resisted scratches. With this one like the 2nd Gen Nano & with a Glass screen, Who Needs a Silicon Skin. Only to cushion falls.

I wonder if Apple saw nano sales take a dive with the 3G model. Something made them reverse course.

Sep 09, 08 - 03:21 pm Comment from: MikeK

They should all have black wheels. Not just the silver and black one.

> I wonder if Apple saw nano sales take a dive with the 3G model. Something made them reverse course.

Apple has to keep changing things up when it comes to iPods. Otherwise, existing customers won't buy new ones. Since the screen is the same size, I'm not sure having to turn it sideways to watch video is better. However, this form factor is better for the next obvious upgrade... a wide screen.

Why all the P**s & moaning? It's a Let's Rock Event. By that title, you should already know what the theme of this event is.

Besides, I believe I've heard of another event coming this year. If not, wait for MacWorld in about 3 months for new Macs.

Does anyone else remember ... gee, maybe as much as a week back? - when this design was leaked and so many (nobody HERE, of course) had so many negatives to rant about? "They DID that shape already!" "Looks PhotoShopped!" "That's UGLY." And more. And more.
Now.
Here it is.
And how the tunes have changed!
Zune Tang ... grab the wrong ID for your latest comment? Or were you just explaining your sarcasm to the wit-challenged in the crowd! Get to admit there are an embarrassing number in the group that "just don't get it". wink
