Apple inks iPhone deals with 3 Russian carriers; expects sales of 1.8 million units per year
Friday, August 22, 2008 - 10:52 AM EST Apple has inked deals with Mobile TeleSystems, VimpelCom and MegaFon sell the company's revolutionary iPhone 3G in Russia, according to a report in the Russian language business daily Vedomosti (Ведомости), which cited three unidentified people familiar with the talks.The three Russian operators signed a contract to sell a total of 1.8 million iPhones per year and sales could start as early as Sept. 26, the newspaper said.
