Much as I like Daniel, its quite a reach to compare 2 devices with such authority that he's never even touched.

I think he needs to slow down. The blog-a-day concept means he's really starting to reach sometimes.

With time, the price and size of the iPhone will drop and you'll see what Steve meant with 'Revolution'.

Read that article. You will see the LG Prada KE850 is a joke and is being used by Apple haters in a lame attempt to bash the iPhone.

Roughly drafted has some really good articles, and then it has a lot of filler. This is the latter.

Even looking at those two devices demontsrates how advanced iPhone is.

I'm surprised that Daniel reports that the screens are almost the same size. The iPhone delivers 9600 more pixel than the Prada.

Far too many analysts and pundits, or whatever you want to call them, think that just because both phones look similar and have touch screens that they must, in fact, be similar. Nothing could be farther from the truth!!
The pure and simple fact is that once people get their hands on an iPhone and experience the OS that we all know and love and they realize how easy syncing should be, everything will become much clearer!!

BIG difference.

The first two of which will most assuredly be superior experiences on the iPhone. I don't know about three, if LG has some way to view MS documents then maybe commoners will find it the better choice there.

I don't need to wait for these phones to be released. It's obvious on paper that the KE850 is a piece of shit compared to the iPhone. The LG is nothing more than a phone with a touchscreen and a few interface enhancements while the iPhone is a revolutionary step toward the future.

Keep in mind, LG is same company that couldn't even get touchscreen -controls- right on the face of their Chocolate phone model (both the GSM version in Europe and Verizon's CDMA version in America). Nevermind an entire screen, just a few navigational buttons -beneath- the screen. Imagine how they'll fuck this up.

Now, what would prevent them from just leaving it at LG Prada? That would be elegant. Why add a bunch of alphabetic nonsense on the end? Were there 849 previous "KE type" variants of the Prada? I don't think so.

The name alone shows that LG is stuck in electronics-industry status quo thinking mode, where you slap a lot of geeky sounding stuff into a product spec sheet (nevermind if it actually works well) and hope people buy it because it sounds "high tech"

Yeah. Personally I welcome the LG Prada along with the Apple iPhone. Competition is always good, and this kind of thing will always make Apple step up with its further development. They won't be sitting on their laurels, while the competition is developing the next big thing.

As far as commenting and comparing both mobile phone's promised features, sight unseen, it's kind of ludicrous isn't it? This article really should be postponed until after at least one of them is actually released. Still it is much more favorable to the iPhone.

the Lucky-Goldstar Prada. That says it all. It's like an Acer Ferrari. They are hoping that sticking the name of a luxury brand on their product, they'll get some of the shine. It just doesn't work that way. Apple has created their own brand. LG is just borrowing theirs.

I agree with those that say this is just too detailed a comparison of a device that, technically, does not yet exist.

It does make me think though - Once the phone is actually released and for sale, most every phone maker will see how their products could've been done, and should've been done, then they'll all rush to make their phone products look as close to the iPhone as possible without illegally copying it, but their products still will not have the funtionality of the Apple product. M. Dell knows how this is done probably better than anyone else.

This is commonly called the Apple cycle.

What is this "comparing the interfaces sight unseen" BS?

Both interfaces have been demo'd on video, for all to see. It's obvious to anyone with a brain that the Prada is leagues behind the iPhone in ease of use and app integration.

and yes, the Prada does far less, poorly, for far more $$.

Its like the same thing happened with the XBox and PS3.., Sony waits, , , looks at what Microsoft has to offer and then tries to top it (and then FAILS). The iPhone is just another phone thats gonna be forgotten about in like 2 years.., if you want a REALLY good phone, Then get yourself a NOKIA., those are THE BEST

ok, i have the iPhone, and its not that great.
i dropped it once..with a leather cover on it..and it cracked.
and if any type of moisture gets in those cracks (even your breath) it shuts down, and you cannot see who is calling you, or any buttons on the screen.
