From their bluesy beginnings on This Was to the mature prog-rock of Roots to Branches, Apple has announced the addition of Jethro Tull’s complete Chrysalis music catalog to the iTunes Store.

[Thanks to MacDailyNews Reader “Carroll W.” for the heads up.]
MacDailyNews Note: Jethro Tull was one of the more notable iTunes Store holdouts.
What a nightmare.
Real fossils, musicall, but well worth the wait.
Now how about the mighty Zep?
If you don’t get Tull, man, you’re thick as a brick.
Jethro Tull was a constant musical companion of mine as I progressed through undergraduate college. Unbelievable live concerts and really fine musicians. Wonderful to finally see them on iTunes!
I guess my age is showing…
They had problems posting this music. It has online this morning, but no music has at the other end of the link. You were just thrown into a search page since they couldn’t find the music.
Brian Allen
Yay!!! About f***ing time!!! =8-)
@TheDataDude: don’t worry about your age, mate – most of today’s music is nothing to get excited about. For a few weeks I downloaded the weekly free songs from iTunes, but they were always so crappy I just deleted them. I much rather pay for something worth listening to.
Hmmm, I seem to remember that Ian Anderson, the band’s lead singer, had the worst teeth in the music industry. It was also bands like J.T. that launched me headlong into the punk genre. Taste is always a relative thing.
Who????

I find it had to believe that he has worse teeth than The Pogue’s Shane McGowan.
Nothing like some Jethro to enjoy ‘Living in the Past’ in 5/4 time, man.
Speaking of Tull…did you ever fart so hard you ended up in another zip code?
If the album Thick as a Brick is only one (forty plus minute) song, does that mean the album is only 99¢?
Your are such a Tull
Already had it all. I grew up with Tull. Listened to Benefit all the time in high school and thick as a brick in university. Classic.
Bungle in the Jungle!
If you Jethro Tull fans could equate their sound to a more recent, more notable artist or band, what would it be?
R2
I’m sure there are closer examples, but for some reason, music wise, Bele Fleck and the Flecktones comes to mind.
TT –
maybe Bela Fleck on acid…

I second that, TowerTone.
My first Jethro Tull concert was the first time that I smoked pot.

Same with Pink Floyd.
MW = “english”. No freakin’ way!
I love Tull! I already have most of what I want, but I’ll take a look at iTunes and see if I’m missing something. Tull were great musicians that could crank out some pounding rock and then slip into a great harmonic jazz riff. Anderson made the flute cool for a rock band, although no one has been to replicate his success; which goes to show how uniquely talented he was. He came along with song writing and singing capabilities too. I definitely like the early stuff and enjoyed heavy doses of Benefit and Aqualung in high school. I think Jethro Tull was the first concert I went to on my own with friends. The Forum in L.A., where the Lakers used to play.

Bela or me? ” width=”19″ height=”19″ alt=”LOL” style=”border:0;” />

‘Oh, by the way, which one’s ‘Lynyrd?’,
Cu-did you feel like you were floatin’ in the air with the smoke?
‘Anderson made the flute cool for a rock band, although no one has been to replicate his success;’
I think Ron Burgandy might have issues with that…
SNOT IS RUNNING DOWN HIS NOSE,
WAY COOL>>>>>
TT…. the best Tull concert I went to ever, I can’t remember.
