Apple lifts ban, iFart Mobile now available for iPhone, iPod touch via iTunes App Store
Monday, December 15, 2008 - 09:45 AM EST

Apple has officially approved the iFart Mobile application for distribution through the iTunes App Store.

Placed on review for several months along with other innovative applications, Apple had remained silent but deadly as they sought to determine which kinds of applications would be appropriate for their devices. Apple's rejection and/or holding pattern of selected applications has made news throughout the web with articles written on MacDailyNews, The LA Times, Wired Magazine, The Guardian, TechCrunch, Venture Beat and other web sites. Many criticized Apple for their approval and selection process indicating that their censorship of applications was arbitrary.

But now, finally, Apple has loosened their collective sphincter and made iFart Mobile, a Digital Sound Machine and entertainment system which brings laughs and enjoyment to its users, available via iTunes App Store. iFart even has a built-in security system designed to surprise and discourage iPhone theft, as well as a "Sneak Attack" function:

When someone tries to snatch your phone, they’ll be in for a shock when they’re blasted by your chosen sound effect. Most thieves know how to lie, but “it wasn’t me” isn’t going to work with iFart.

Sneak Attack allows users to simply pull out their iPhone or iPod touch, choose a sound effect, and set the timer up to 30 seconds. Then place your device in a strategic location and move silently away before detonation.

iFart Mobile is available for download in the iTunes App Store for 99-cents here.

Q: What's the difference between erotic and kinky?

A: Erotic is when you use a feather; kinky is when you use the whole chicken.

i agree that this should not be censored, however i just hope there is not enough demand for this application that it will be successful.

As much as I'm happy to see Apple relax on the censorship, I have been kinda shocked at the amount of fart/burp apps that have flooded the store since then.

Apparently Apple rates them "M" for Mature, but I submit they should be rated "I" for immature.

@ Jubei

THere is an app called iPoo already. It lets you calculate how much time you waste on the john, multiplied by your hourly wage.

Personally I thought Apple might have rejected it just for the crass name.
