Apple primed for boost in Christmas sales

“American Technology Research… released optimistic forecasts on [Apple Computer, Inc.] last night,” Jonny Evans reports for Macworld UK.

Evans reports, “American Technology Research analyst Shaw Wu told clients: ‘MacBook continues to be the top selling Mac due to its excellent value and solid feature set while MacBook Pro sales have rebounded following the recent refresh to Intel Core 2 Duo processors.'”

“Looking ahead, Wu sees no end of factors which will help Apple continue to boost its business, including: the release of Mac OS X 10.5 next year, the launch of iTV, the introduction of movies for sale through the iTunes Store from studios outside of Disney, new iPods, the fabled ‘iPhone’ and more,” Evans reports.

  1. Attention Christmas shoppers!

Buy all these things you want but don’t expect them to “just work”. They don’t just work. They have many, many problems and you are being misled to thinking they are not like PCs.

True, they are better than PCs, but that doesn’t mean they have not problems.

    They DO NOT “just work”.

  2. What a ridiculous outburst from “iLie Mac”..!

Apple tops all the customer satisfaction polls, and then read myriads of reports on how trouble free the lives of people who switched from Windows have become.

Of course there are glitches and failures from time to time, but heavens above, there is no comparison.

“Attention Christmas shoppers, ignore the silly anti-Apple folk who must learn not to bark up the wrong tree so often…

  3. I visited my local Apple store yesterday, asked one of the geniuses watch while I ran a program in exact accordance with Apple’s instructions and then watched the MacPro freeze and go blank. Only a hard restart brought it back to life.

I said to him: “See it doesn’t JUST WORK, do you admit that?”

He said yes and that he would look into it.

  4. Visual Hub can convert WM3 files.

Wait until the Dual Quad Mac Pro with BlueRay DVD drive arrives.

WHAT A MONSTER THAT WILL BE!!

  5. Oh, he also said I should try “repair permissions” toss some preference files and look over these sites:

I offered how I could do all this with a PC and thought these things were not suppose to happen with Macs. He said no, there were some problems.

How? You only posted links about crashing an App, how can I crash the entire OS?

  7. iLie is trying to create a picture of Macs that freeze up and software that is buggy and unreliable.

In the Land of Reality, Macs rarely if ever freeze up. Compared to all other PCs, Macs are far and away the most stable and secure.

On the software side, has anyone ever made a bug-free application? Again, compared to most software titles, those from Apple tend to be highly stable while also being far more useful and user-friendly.

The reason we are seeing trolls here is because Apple is finally on its ways back to the top. Many PC users don’t think about it, but more and more are becoming aware of the huge advantages of a Mac over a Windows-only PC (yes, Macs can now run Woindows and even Linux natively). However, a very few PC users are, let’s say, emotionally dependent on Windows. They feel threatened by Mac OSX, because it makes them realize that they’ve invested their time and emotions into an OS that is massively unsecure, bloated, unstable, difficult to use, and falling very far behind OSX in terms of technology. Yeah, it’s a little sad. But the good news is that Mac popularity is surging as more and more people are realizing how great they are and how they do indeed “just work.”

  8. iLie Mac,

Apple software defintitely has bugs. Not surprisingly if you think about the thousands of developers involved in designing a computer like the Mac.
However, the Mac is designed with a clear vision in terms of usability, reliability, security and in general what a user really wants from a computer system. This vision is evident throughout the system design, in hardware as well as software.

You are dreaming, if you think that on PCs you can do similar things with no problems. Only yesterday I had to deal with some interesting problems in PC land: don’t get me started !

On a Mac there is a good chance that the problems will be gone (if not now than shortly) if you click Software Update in the Apple menu.

Hope you give the machine a fair chance.

  9. Plus there Windows Defender Sucks Badly. It dont detect anything LOL. Ad-Aware freeware detects more spyware then Windows Defender which detects None. There spyware program went downhill. It used to detect when it was called something in beta stages before. Now it Sucks its a Fact. Get Ad-Aware the best antispyware program for free. Bye

  10. iLie Mac…it’s great to piss guys of isn’t it? but…thing is, however, that you are a poor informed, furstrated and a really sad person who think he’s making a point. Truth is that you have no, and i really mean NO clue at all whatsoever: you haven’t used a mac on a daily basis, you can’t tell the diffference from a stable OS and a cows ass and the only reason you are here is to try to give us the same feeling you’ve been having for years using PC and that stupid OS that’s on it. Well…sorry it’s not working and I agree with some here: stay away here and buy a dell and shut the fuck up.

and yes….my english sux but go ahead, write 5 sentences in perfect dutch and make my day you retard.

    MacB…Netherlands.
