Apple releases GarageBand 4.1.2

Apple today released GarageBand 4.1.2 which improves overall stability and addresses issues with the automation of software instrument parameters, FireWire and USB based audio devices and Magic GarageBand.

GarageBand 4.1.2 is available via Software Update and also as a standalone installer.

Why do Apple spread different updates out over a certain period, like over a week. Why not release them all at once? That would be better.

1. Their servers take less of a hit when they distribute separate updates.
2. It's not realistic to expect all the teams to deliver finished versions at the same time, and security updates shouldn't wait until everyone else is done so they could do one big version.
3. It's just less likely that something will go wrong when updates are focused rather than all-inclusive. They may be changing shared files etc. and it's smarter to install them separately since they were developed separately.
