Noticed a new piece of software .... 'Antibitcher', aimed at the cry babies and whiners who can't cope over minor iPhone issues.

Grow the fsuk up, you babies.

Aug 18, 08 - 04:44 pm Comment from: British Mac Head

Feels snappier

Aug 18, 08 - 04:46 pm Comment from: I need a 12 inch MacBook Pro

Hope this fixes the dropped call issue and shuts up the media !

Aug 18, 08 - 04:50 pm Comment from: Saldin

Does it include the fix for the 3D reception bug?

Aug 18, 08 - 04:50 pm Comment from: Bud Why+Zer

I just completed my update an noticed the 3G signal in my house has more bars now than it did earlier today. Either a new base station tower was installed, or we now have better 3G!

Aug 18, 08 - 04:50 pm Comment from: Jubei

I don't have much drop calls in my area, but I do agree. All these 2 bit so called journalist bloggers to STFU. Your 15 min of fame and blog hits are coming to a halt.

Aug 18, 08 - 04:52 pm Comment from: Jubei

Oh yeah, my iPhone does feel SNAPPIER!

Aug 18, 08 - 04:52 pm Comment from: Fitz

There ARE problems with some of the iPhones. If you have one of these buggy one's, then you know. I know because I have one. It's very frustrating. Hopefully the update will fix the issues.

Aug 18, 08 - 04:54 pm Comment from: ragarcia

I haven't installed it yet but just knowing that it has been released is already making my iPhone feel snappier.

Aug 18, 08 - 04:54 pm Comment from: Anonymous©

Woah, the 2.0.1 update and now this 2.0.2 update are large.

Aug 18, 08 - 04:59 pm Comment from: More Bars

Just loaded it. DEFINITELY more bars on the reception.

Aug 18, 08 - 05:01 pm Comment from: xx

@X;

I found another one, it's called STFU idiot. The description reads "for those who paid a premium price for a phone and got sub-par performance, support, and mobile me empty promises. This software will not refund the lost hours of time trying to make a simple phone call, trying to send email, and false push promises."

Aug 18, 08 - 05:01 pm Comment from: Thomas

I think what it does is simply paint more bars on the screen so all the whiners will think they have a better connection. With 5 bars all the time folks will just think there is too much traffic and not blame Apple. Genius.

Aug 18, 08 - 05:04 pm Comment from: Spark

@Thomas
Genius is right! LOL. Job's is probably wondering why he didn't think of that!

Aug 18, 08 - 05:08 pm Comment from: @xx

Wahhh, wahhhh, I want my momie, wahhh. Just another entitlement gen complainer and baby. Never grew the fsuk up.

Aug 18, 08 - 05:09 pm Comment from: Jubei

@Thomas

Hahaha... yeah.

Aug 18, 08 - 05:17 pm Comment from: Chaz Legwarmer

I got yer bars right here....

Aug 18, 08 - 05:35 pm Comment from: The Other Steve

I hope it allows us to install more than a page or two of third party apps. The current iPhone isn't stable enough to handle more than that. Or should I wait for 2.1?
The App store is great, I just want to use it more.

"what it does is simply paint more bars on the screen"
Thomas, that's just toooooo funny!

Aug 18, 08 - 05:57 pm Comment from: Duh!

@X

Does that mean that 'Antibitcher' will finally let us copy and paste?

Cool!

Aug 18, 08 - 06:01 pm Comment from: Arnold Ziffel

Just loaded my 2G iPhone with 2.0.2, and it's doing OK. If a 3G network was in the mix, I ain't a-knowin' it.

I'm trusting Apple to fix bugs quickly, which they usually do. Despite a few glitches, I am completely happy with my iPhone after 13 and 1/2 months of use.

Aug 18, 08 - 06:03 pm Comment from: Arnold Ziffel

Second sentence should have said, "If a 3G network FIX was in the mix...."

Aug 18, 08 - 06:04 pm Comment from: John E

more first-hand reports on the update instead of post-arrhea would be much appreciated.

Aug 18, 08 - 06:07 pm Comment from: Chaz Legwarmer

John E says, "More first-hand reports on the update instead of post-arrhea would be much appreciated."

This is what makes John E. so freakin' sexy! He says it like it should be! Rrooowwwwrrr! Tssst!

Aug 18, 08 - 06:11 pm Comment from: Art Vandelay

I hope it fixes the bug that causes the little beastie to "over delete" when typing a message or email. I'm tired of hearing my S.O. gripe about it every time she tries to delete a word and watches as the cursor instead mows down a sentence or two or three.

Aug 18, 08 - 06:12 pm Comment from: mks1

Just loaded the update and no change in my bars, same 2 as before. Contacts do seem snappier.

AT&T;less bars in more places

Aug 18, 08 - 06:31 pm Comment from: dc

doesn't seem to fix my 3g reception issues. still suffering with edge. why do some people get upset with other users reporting problems with iphone?

Aug 18, 08 - 06:32 pm Comment from: smokeydental1

agree with mks1 contacts much faster. 3G in my area has two more bars and I live on the edge of a 3G area.

Aug 18, 08 - 06:35 pm Comment from: Tommy Boy

X, I wouldn't exactly call my iPhone's current inability to sync my contacts with my computer to be "minor".

Aug 18, 08 - 06:46 pm Comment from: RIMM

I can already see RIM's new ad campaign... "We don't update software because it works."

These updates are coming to frequently and are becoming a joke.

Aug 18, 08 - 06:50 pm Comment from: JAYGEE

Does it allow some sort of boot camp software that allows you to install Android?

Aug 18, 08 - 07:02 pm Comment from: Chuck

@Rimm
So don't do it idiot.

Aug 18, 08 - 07:02 pm Comment from: Chip

Wow - even my landline feels snappier!

Aug 18, 08 - 07:07 pm Comment from: Greg M

One less bar for me but the contacts are much more responsive. The overall response of the phone is much more in line with the 2g that I had. Hopefully this update also addressed the mail malfunctions. It will take time to see if it did.

Aug 18, 08 - 07:07 pm Comment from: frisby

Does this update prevent Batman from using my cell phone for sonar. I really want to one up that fool...

Aug 18, 08 - 07:14 pm Comment from: Spark

1. Didn't application updates use to allow an "Update All" selection? I thought it did, but it doesn't now. Maybe I'm wrong.

@The Other Steve,
Don't know what the max is, butI currently have 4 pages of apps. Not sure what you're looking at.

Aug 18, 08 - 07:31 pm Comment from: Road Warrior

I like that new campaign, works well with "we don't update software cause we don't evolve."

Aug 18, 08 - 07:35 pm Comment from: @spark

I'm pretty sure it's 9 pages...

Aug 18, 08 - 07:36 pm Comment from: I. P. Touch

What is the supposed benefit for iPod touch users? Anyone notice any difference?

Aug 18, 08 - 07:49 pm Comment from: shen

"Saldin
Does it include the fix for the 3D reception bug?"

holy crap! your iPhone gets 3D? how does it project it?!?

Aug 18, 08 - 08:15 pm Comment from: Original Shiva

I just updated my iPod Touch and it plays 45s and 78s now. Without the little thimbles.

Aug 18, 08 - 08:18 pm Comment from: Original Shiva

Dang and if it didn't just snap out a loaf of whole grain bread too.

Aug 18, 08 - 08:25 pm Comment from: Sarasota

Now my iTouch not only opens my garage door but my neighbors, too!

Aug 18, 08 - 09:07 pm Comment from: OpJ

Today after a week's vacation I was sitting in my office, across the street from City Hall in Philadelphia, in 2 Penn Center, with no 3G bars at all-EDGE only.

This is amusing because I took a day trip with my wife to Baltimore on Friday, and had nice, strong 3G reception while in the Inner Harbor. I mean, literally, in the harbor, on a ferry, in the middle of the freaking water. Nice, strong reception all the way through to Fell's Point.

Nice to know I can get better 3G reception in a boat in the harbor staring up the Domino's Sugar sign than I can get in my office looking over at City Hall. A block and half from the AT&T;store.

Aug 18, 08 - 09:16 pm Comment from: ron

We don't need any more bars in our town. We have enough drunk drivers already.

Aug 18, 08 - 09:19 pm Comment from: Scott

2+ hours to backup/install/restore to 2.02.

All 3rd party apps crash on launch.

Now I get to spend the rest of the night doing a clean install and setting everything up from scratch. All games in progress, lost. All data in Epocrates, lost. All personalization of any kind, lost.

Thanks Apple.

At this point the 'killer app' for the iPhone would be one that backs up and restores all data for 3rd party apps at the tap of a button.

Aug 18, 08 - 09:58 pm Comment from: MusicDoc

On the other side of things......on my iPod Touch.....update went quickly....it was done by the time dinner was over. All programs work and run smoothly....no crashes at all.

Aug 19, 08 - 12:13 am Comment from: timeport

well I did my update and them went for a long walk, the battery life is a lot better now then before.

Aug 19, 08 - 12:21 am Comment from: Shams

Updated to iPhone 2.0.2, and now the iPhone doesn't show up in itunes anymore. Turned the phone on and off, rebooted, even re-downloaded iTunes 7.7.1. Nothing. I can't sync the iPhone. Any suggestions?

Aug 19, 08 - 12:32 am Comment from: brecklin

Shams-
try unplugging your keyboard before hooking up your iPhone..

question-
I had the 1st rev iPhone and when someone would send a picture message it would send me to viewyourmessage.com to view it, but with my iPhone 3G it doesn't send anything; ATT said its my 3G chip so I went and got a replacement iPhone and its still doesn't work.. I'm I the only one with this problem?

Aug 19, 08 - 12:34 am Comment from: brecklin

and 2.0.2 deleted all my text messages.
which is not the big of a deal, but still.

Aug 19, 08 - 12:46 am Comment from: Lurker_PC

Shams - also try unplugging any unnecessary devices, if unplugging your keyboard does not work. Good luck.

No problems here. More bars - but Thomas from above may be right. I haven't tested how well the phone holds on to 3G. I'm fortunate to live in the North Eastern part of the US - outside of any big city - thank goodness - and honestly haven't had ANY dropped calls or bad connection problems.

2.0.2 does not affect 3rd party apps (at least the ones I tested) on my iPhone, as some have suggested. I don't text message brecklln, can't confirm deletion of text messages.

Good luck everyone.

Peace.
