Updates... still no SDK. Wake me up when the thing gets released.

Feb 26, 08 - 03:56 pm Comment from: turano

Just updated mine. When it restarted after install it had no connection to ATT.

I shut it off and rebooted with it plugged in to MacBook. Did the trick after it started it said iPhone Activated.

Just thought I would share in case anyone else has the issue.

very dissapointing :-(

Feb 26, 08 - 04:04 pm Comment from: Jacob

This update does not make my iPod feel snappier =( Oh, snap!

Feb 26, 08 - 04:05 pm Comment from: IKON

@jacob: you have to update your index-finger too.

Feb 26, 08 - 04:06 pm Comment from: Scott

Anyone else tired of deleting emails one by one????

Feb 26, 08 - 04:12 pm Comment from: Ampar

It got rid of Crackle and Pop, leaving just . . . .

Feb 26, 08 - 04:20 pm Comment from: Ampar

"Anyone else tired of deleting emails one by one?"

No, it gives me something to do while MDN loads. (too bitchy?)

Feb 26, 08 - 04:26 pm Comment from: Jubei

@ jendensam

Here you go. "My iPhone and Touch is much SNAPPIER!" grin

Feb 26, 08 - 04:27 pm Comment from: Q

Ok, that was a good one!

Feb 26, 08 - 04:28 pm Comment from: yomomma

@ Ampar

You can't possibly have that many emails.

Feb 26, 08 - 04:34 pm Comment from: Zune Tang®

Hey MAC lemmings, another day, another round of bug fixes for your crappy I-Phone. That thing has more bugs than a pile of shit. How's that one button working? How long do you have to wait for Apple to make a two-button phone? My money is on never. They still haven't figured out how to make a two-button mouse for their MACs.

Sent from my Motorola Q running Windows Mobile.

Your potential. Our passion.™

Feb 26, 08 - 04:41 pm Comment from: Bunsen Honeydew

I would like a faster way to scroll down or both ways. I'm aware of hitting the time bar up at the top to get to the top quickly, but what about the other way around. How about two fingers for a quick scroll?

Feb 26, 08 - 04:47 pm Comment from: mayday

"How about two fingers for a quick scroll?"

That's what she said...

Feb 26, 08 - 04:50 pm Comment from: madgunde

@Zune Tang
Last time I checked, my iPhone has 4 buttons: Home, Power/wake/sleep, volume up and volume down. Plus a silent switch, which if you count as a button, makes five.

But considering anything on the screen can be made a button, that gives the iPhone an infinite number of buttons.

Feb 26, 08 - 04:52 pm Comment from: Ghost

Zune Tang,

You will always use your third degree windows mobile phone. Get advice from some technology experts about mac devices (i.e OSX and iPhone). I never need those crappy button on my iPhone and really happy with my iPhone at present. No one is even close to iPhone.

Feb 26, 08 - 04:53 pm Comment from: Willie G

You know, Zune Tang... your tiresome and predictable trolling is nothing short of sad. Are you really so insecure in the quality of your platform of choice that you have to take such ludicrous shots at everything on here in some fruitless attempt to persuade yourself that you made the right choice?

Seriously... get a life.

Feb 26, 08 - 04:58 pm Comment from: max

ZuneTang(R) - a phone that has development updates is a far more exciting and flexible resource than one locked down with crappy windoze mobile

Feb 26, 08 - 04:58 pm Comment from: coolfactor

"Anyone else tired of deleting emails one by one?"

- Do you use the swipe technique? It's the fastest way.
- How do you propose they implement multi-message delete with the multi-touch interface?

Feb 26, 08 - 05:02 pm Comment from: can't find what I am looking for

STEVE! Please, for the love of god, give me SEARCH! Come on!

Search emails, bookmarks, contacts. I am begging you, please . . . . . . . . sob . . . . . . . .

Feb 26, 08 - 05:03 pm Comment from: Jimithy

I love being able to tell who the new people are, since they're the ones who aren't familiar with the fact that Zune Tang is a fake troll. HE IS BEING SARCASTIC.

Feb 26, 08 - 05:08 pm Comment from: Peter

I just installed it on my 1G iPod. It's much snappier...

Feb 26, 08 - 05:10 pm Comment from: @Zune Tang

Great work as always, I look forward to your posts daily. And for all you who think Zune is a troll; welcome to MDN and the Mac Family, cause it is clear you have not been here long wink

Feb 26, 08 - 05:17 pm Comment from: Woody

I ♥ Zune Tang®.

@turano... It's not unusual for an iPhone update to do that. Mine always does that, but fairly quickly. I suppose if your signal is kinda iffy, it might take a more noticable amount of time to re-activate.

Feb 26, 08 - 05:22 pm Comment from: MaryThomas

Both before and after installing the iPhone 1.1.4 update, iTunes states that it will "automatically check for an update again on 2/29/08." Could this leap year day be *the* day for the iPhone story to leap ahead??

Feb 26, 08 - 05:23 pm Comment from: Jim - TIV

Updated... interesting that I had to sync all of my songs, video, and data after the update. Ah well, it all works.

Feb 26, 08 - 05:31 pm Comment from: Your Mom Bluray

I as well look forward to my daily dose of Zune Tang's mouthful. ZT, keep that tongue a'flappin...

Feb 26, 08 - 05:32 pm Comment from: TowerTone

Now my girlfriend's bra feels un-snappier...

Feb 26, 08 - 05:35 pm Comment from: NewYorkRules

Is this update the reason Time Capsule is still nowhere to be found?

Thank God for Apple there's 29 days in February this year - maybe they're relying on that.

Feb 26, 08 - 05:38 pm Comment from: Farlo

Woohoo! The wifi bug is fixed. I can now connect to the public wifi connection at work. So much for productivity.

Feb 26, 08 - 05:56 pm Comment from: Mac Plus

@coolfactor... yeah, the swipe technique works well.
As for multiple deletes, highlight the first one to delete, drag down to highlight the others: swipe to delete all selected? Of course they would have to be consecutive emails.
I get so much spam that it wouldn't be a problem for me to find consecutive emails to delete....

Feb 26, 08 - 06:01 pm Comment from: Mac Plus

@ampar... I use Adblock plus with Firefox. MDN is... wait for it.... snappier!

Feb 26, 08 - 06:13 pm Comment from: Writertype

Oooh, you can flick between home pages - that's new! But seriously, my hope is that this will rectify the 'dropping calls' issue. Only time will tell...

Feb 26, 08 - 06:20 pm Comment from: leon Gelernter

ZUNE TANG: FSCK YOU!! Its the x time you come here to post your random bullshit..

what a moron...

ever heard of mighy mouse asshole?

2 buttons and more!!

Feb 26, 08 - 06:25 pm Comment from: shux

They still need to add another half inch to the volume up control.

Feb 26, 08 - 06:55 pm Comment from: @shux

Were you hoping the firmware update would take care of that?

Feb 26, 08 - 06:56 pm Comment from: LeftCoastDude

Zune Tang comments are why I actually read the comments. What are the odds going for now that he really is a Mac user, owning 2 iMac's, an iPhone, 6 or 7 iPods (one per generation, with the original packaging neatly wrapped in plastic) along with Apple TV?

Noobs. Just understand he's having fun.

Feb 26, 08 - 07:22 pm Comment from: deuxdrop

I updated to 1.1.4 and something happened during update. It first said it could not be updated, so I hit update again, that failed and then said it would have to be restored then updated, did that, finally updated, but now when I hit photos or camera, or go to settings->general->about, each one looks like it is going to open but the app crashes and returns me to home screen. I did a restore again and I still have same problem. Anyone else get this or have ideas? STILL better than a windows mobile platform though.

Feb 26, 08 - 07:23 pm Comment from: Anim8me2

@Scott,
You need to sync the time on your iPhone. That resolves the SMS re-ordering.

Feb 26, 08 - 07:37 pm Comment from: krquet

MDN Magic Word is received:
As in, I am glad I just received my iPhone (refurb with 1.1.3) before this update. <s>ATT</s>
Sorry, Apple, but I'll make it up. Ordering the new Macbook pro by Friday. I have waited a long time for this indeed.

Feb 26, 08 - 07:43 pm Comment from: Tune Zang

Hey leon...

Mighty Mouse sux. Worst mouse ever developed! I can't believe Apple couldn't make a mouse that would click left or right properly every single time. And don't say that I'm just unco or something, lots of Mac pros have the same problem, it's a shyte mouse, and until Apple fix it by replacing it with a whole new mouse, it'll continue to remain shyte, and not a true two button mouse. So take that leon... you have heard the Tune... of Zang.

Feb 26, 08 - 07:50 pm Comment from: iLuvMyMacs

Well with ZT here- we can separate the 'newbees' from the 'regulars'

Welcome everybody just the same.

ZT - you're priceless.
2-button iPhone............. lol

Feb 26, 08 - 08:06 pm Comment from: nekogami13

I love the dorks who instantly leap to defend Zune Tang's tired schtick.
I guess I never complain how idiotic it is because I skip it-it ceased to be amusing after the 2,000,000,000 repeat of the same thing.

Feb 26, 08 - 08:26 pm Comment from: Tang Dumpster

I WANT TO HAVE ZUNE TANGS BABY

You sexy MSFT beatch you.

Feb 26, 08 - 08:55 pm Comment from: Jubei

Seriously, with Apple constantly refreshing the iPod lines and the iPod Touch now a real product with 32gb, the iTunes Store having the most massive amounts of media one can have. What the heck is the point of the Zune from MS?

Feb 26, 08 - 09:04 pm Comment from: focker

haha, you guys need to chill at ZuneTang, just from the name, you can tell he's a parody.... to all the haters of Zune Tang, you guys are sometimes more entertaining to read and even more WAY out there compared to his parody, ha.

Feb 26, 08 - 10:14 pm Comment from: Sixvodkas

Tune Zang

Huh?

I've been using my Mighty Mouse since the day it was released, and it has, indeed, correctly clicked (right or left) every single time I've tried it.

Maybe you need mouse training?

Feb 26, 08 - 10:22 pm Comment from: Scott

@Anim8me2

I have it set to automatically sync. I have always had it this way. I tried switching to setting it myself, then setting it back to auto with no luck. I set it to self setting and then waiting for an hour or two and then setting it back to automatic. Nothing is helping it. I text a lot so it is quite annoying to me.

Feb 26, 08 - 11:02 pm Comment from: NewYorkRules

I wonder when they'll refresh Time Capsule (oh wait ...)
