This post does not make sense. Can I purchase the AL keyboard and use it on iMac G5 units???

Is this update required for the new iMacs???

Anyone figure this one out?

I assume that Apple will stop manufacturing and distributing the old plastic tray keyboard, and that the new Al keyboard will be offered for purchase separately as a replacement unit. Just a guess.

Yes. I went to an Apple Store to get one two days ago. Turns out, they did not have the separately boxed keyboards yet. The sales guy told me it would be available "mid-August." At the online store, there is also a short waiting time, but it is listed for $49.

Still buying on { EBAY } the old M7803 keyboards. I think it was the best one that Apple made. The USB ports on both left and right sides are downright handy, you can actually see where to plug in without rooting around on the back of the keyboard.

I'll pass on this upgrade!

Just purchased the new keyboard for my iMac 24 inch (last years model). The F3 (expose) and F4 (dashboard) key don't work. Everything else ok. Hopefully Apple will fix this problem.
