My aluminum iMac is 12% snappier while my G5 1.8 is 14% snappier after the security and Java updates!!

I know that there are those who may consider any direct reference to a sense of accelerated overall performance in the functions of one's computer/s after a performance enhancing event such as a security update as being cynical or even sarcastic BUT...

And what a big BUT it was!

My confusers are so much snapper, they are leaving skid marks on the desk.

:p

I'll wait 24-48 hours as always. It's good to see if this update inadvertently hoses anything. So go forth and be snappy. But I'd rather wait a day to make sure nothing's been overlooked.

Feb 12, 09 - 08:08 pm Comment from: Steve

The only bad thing about waiting, is the snappiness may be lost with time.

As always, repair disk permissions before updating.

As always... B#11&h1T;!

"As always, repair disk permissions before updating."

Apple should get a new FS for gods sake.

Feb 13, 09 - 12:19 am Comment from: Renderdog

No need to repair permissions before software updates, only if you're experiencing problems. (Google it)

Feb 13, 09 - 09:04 am Comment from: Chris

Repairing permissions is unnecessary, as the others said.
