So Mac-nugget, what pithy observations do you have to make about this post?

Feb 07, 08 - 12:03 am Comment from: Jubei

Maybe there is secret hidden code there for us to discover.

Feb 07, 08 - 12:15 am Comment from: JD

My Quicktime vids are definitely snappier.

Oh nice! Your ad for "CURSORMANIA" samelessly announces that "We're sorry - this feature is not compatible with Macs". Heads up (on a pole) for your adsellers!

What, no MDN take? Let me give my take:

Apple fixes fsck-up that broke After Effects and Premiere renders for 3 weeks, in the name of movie rental DRM.

Nah, gettin' ready for the 10.5.2 update....

THIS week?

Feb 07, 08 - 01:59 am Comment from: frisby

I have AEcs3 and FCPs2 and I never, once, not at all experienced problems with renders, runtime, composites or anything. Not on my iMac or Macbook both running leopard with intel C2D.

Feb 07, 08 - 03:16 am Comment from: GranitW

Wow, I didn't know Apple was still supporting Panther lol

Feb 07, 08 - 03:47 am Comment from: R2

Jeez, the Obama ads are all over the place.

I guess that trend will continue since Hillary's campaign is broke.

Feb 07, 08 - 05:18 am Comment from: Yours Smugly

QuickTime is now 0.0.1 times snappier. And Obama is snappier than Hillary.

"Apple fixes fsck-up that broke After Effects and Premiere renders for 3 weeks"
VAST numbers of users that don't use those applications completely unaffected.

The update addresses security issues...

Haha! Another "security issue" from the famous "MAC's ARE SO SECURE" and "Mac's have no security problems" propoganda campaign.

Nevermind Windows is about a zillion times worst, it has a zillion times more market share too!!

In fact the wonderful Vista has LESS security issues than OS X!!

Nevermind that Microsoft doesn't disclose all the security issues in Vista to skew the numbers, who do you trust more?

A stage hopping monkey boy or some turtlenecked black ninja wannabe geek with fruity intentions?

At least the monkey can be beaten off your back...but actually I like him poking my behind, because I'm Zune Tang, a Microsoft shrill!!

OHhohohoh Ballmer...

@Zune Tang Wannabe

If that was an attempt at humor then you need to try something else.

Wannabe ... I am not much of a fan of Zune Tang's humor ... but that was just lame ....

Feb 07, 08 - 09:34 am Comment from: ken1w

@ Zune Tang Wannabe

I think you "wanna" try something else. That was pathetic.

Great, another reboot. These things have been far too frequent lately.

Feb 07, 08 - 10:08 am Comment from: MacAngus

Hmmm. The Panther download page "can't be found", according to Apple. I know - who's running Panther. I am keeping some Bondi Blue iMacs alive (they still work great, by the way.)

Feb 07, 08 - 10:15 am Comment from: Uncle Al

Mmmmm, Famous Grouse. If I jump over him, am I playing hop scotch?

Feb 07, 08 - 10:21 am Comment from: Blackie

Panther link still broke.

Feb 07, 08 - 11:12 am Comment from: Jonahan

It broke my 17" MBP all I get is a blue screen... remind you of anything?? :(

@Tommy Boy
How about not mentioning that this QuickTime patch fixes Adobe video products for Leopard. But no, that would actually be journalism that usually is a connotation of the word NEWS. They just copy paste and opine here, so where do they get the Daily News part of their name?

But who uses Adobe products on a Mac? Still no mention of the Acrobat patch that also brings compatibility of Distiller with Leopard. But who uses Distiller on a Mac, right? No, nether of these two stories has any relevance to the Mac community, you are right, because Mac users don't use Adobe products. So why even mention it.

Sorry but with a name like Mac Daily News, I would think news would be relevant, but apparently the only stories that are of the outmost importance is how bad MS is doing and how woful Vista is.

Don't get me wrong, I like and enjoy this site, I find if very amusing. I just take issue with it's name, it should be called the Garden of the Mac Fan Boy, Worship Mac Station, or Mac Fan Boyz Playground.

Yet I find my self in accordance with the opinion of the sites editors a lot, so I guess I am a Mac Fan Boy my self.

The video of all my mpeg4 files won't play specifically after 7.4 - only have audio. Apparently this is a fairly common side effect of QT7.4.

Feb 07, 08 - 01:02 pm Comment from: Mac-nugget

@down
That is why you need 7.4.1

Now that was funny!

Glad they finally got around to it though. Although it would be nice if they did some testing before releasing software. If I had a AE project going, I would have been pissed. I've learned over the years to resist "upgrades" until all current projects are complete.

Good for you that it's now fixed though.

There's ads here? Wow, the etc/hosts hack really works!
