  1. Oh brother here comes all the “insecure by design” comments.

We know there is a extraordinary amount of flaws in these new Intel processors, the OS will get updated to work around them.

This will go on for quite some time and early adopters take their chances.

Wait for a few months after the Dual Quad Kentsfields and BlueRay drives are released to buy.

Nobody beleives Steve when he says these new Mac Pro’s are 1.6 -2.1x as fast as a PPC Quad, if that was so, IBM would have the G5 at 3 Ghz by now.

Wait for the Kentsfields, trust me.

  2. Figures. A billion of a second after release and Apple has a security problem. Who would have guessed? This overpriced disaster is only good for one thing — burning a hole in your pocket. Plus Apple picks the crappiest video cards on the planet for this turkey. As usual the only place to get real computers is from HP or Dell. Not only do you get the latest and greatest, but you don’t have to pay the Steve Jobs tax.

  3. Mac Realist.

    Apple Mac Pro = $2499
    Dell Precision 690 = $3471

Okay, the Dell has a video card that costs about $50 more, but the Mac dual-boots, comes with a slew of applications and is virus free.

That’s the best damn tax I’ve ever paid.

Microsoft releases Security updates? Coulda fooled me.

  5. Isn’t this just the same security update we had not too long ago, except configured for the Mac Pro and XServes? Probably couldn’t apply the update to the drive before they got shipped out.

I fail to see the major insecurity claims here that weren’t addressed several days ago.

  6. This site sucks ASS!

    1. Whiny, cry-baby, Apple elitists

    2. Ads, ads, ads

    3. Pop-ups, pop-unders

    4. ContentLink is the worst fucking ad scheme

    5. Everyone here preaches to the choir so much, that actual Apple fanboys have to “pretend” to be Apple bashers just to have someone to kick around.

    6. The kool-aid runs a-plenty around here

  7. Morons:

Pop-ups? Pop-unders? You running a Windoze PeeSea or what? I haven’t seen a single one on my iBook and I currently have 19 MDN pages open in tabs in Safari, plus several other sites in other tabs.
