Apple releases Xsan 2.2 updates; adds 64-bit support for Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard

Xsan 2.2Apple today released the following Xsan updates, one of which includes 64-bit support on Snow Leopard versions of Mac OS X and Mac OS X Server:

• Xsan 2.2 FileSystem Update for 10.6: Recommended for all systems running Xsan 2 - 39MB

Umm... does the dearth of commentary on this thread mean that Xsan is pretty much a non-factor in the Mac Universe? I was hoping to learn some cool stuff about Apple's server offerings and found just good ol' Sir Gill (where ya' been, man?) the lone voice in the wilderness.

I'm confused as to what Apple is offering these days, server-wise. Didn't they discontinue their servers but continue making server software? What servers would this run on? Enlightenment please?

No, just that the people who use it don't tend to read MDN. It's a rather specialized product.

I read MDN and own 60 licenses of Xsan ! Xsan is Awesome. I wish apple would include it with every license of Snow Leopard server . . . Go Apple Go !

This came out the same day Snow Leopard came out, Apple's website has been revised for a couple weeks to reflect 2.2.
