AAPL quote via NASDAQ here.
MacDailyNews Note: “I am putting a sell on Apple, the company that created the iPhone,” Laura Goldman, investment advisor, LSG Capital, May 21, 2007. AAPL closed at $111.98 that day. Apple has risen over 54% since Goldman’s “sell” recommendation.
Stratosphere
My nipples are getting hard. Go, AAPL, go.
I’m as happy as a little GIRL!
Wait till next Monday when your ‘precious’ dips to 140 on overblown earnings expectations.
If Real Networks still has a $1B market cap, then sell them short. That company’s not worth a quarter of that.

This is like sex when I was a teenager…..it gets better everyday!
Don’t get married, Apple!!!!!
MW:physical…hah! you go, Olivia!
I think you struck a nerve with laura. Hey laura waaaaa. stop doubting apple. You need to reevaluate the way the technology market works now. This aint 1995 Apple dictates the how the tech market works now. I’d say not listening to her apple predictions is the best thing for her clients.
Truth is, the stock is going to take a hit next week. No matter how good the news from Cupertino, AAPL loses 10-15% right after a quarterly report. But it will bounce back in a week or two, especially as we head into the holiday season and the analysts start reporting on the traffic levels at Apple stores.
Here is the interesting part: Around $180 a share — just a few dollars away — Apple’s market cap exceeds both Intel and IBM. That is a watershed event. I predict some celebrations will be taking place at 1 Infinite Loop.
Never get tired of seeing Laura’s quote…she’s probably putting a “buy” on Dell.
My two iMacs, MacBook, iPhone and 3G Nano feel snappier!!
so what are the market caps for NBC, Universal , SONY BMG and Vivendi?
Apple should just buy them and write it off as a charity donation… freeing the world of that scum
GO APPLE,THE SKY IS THE LIMIT!!!We need also more acessories like the mini-server or disk to the Airport Extreme and a real higth-def Tv for the Apple tv or and Apple dvd player, just choose one rumor to become true.
This one goes much higher.
If you are not in yet
wait
better entry next week as every day trader will
PUMP AND DUMP, sell the news whatever you call it
275 by the end of next year
5% more and Apple will overtake IBM. Amazing!!!
More amazing perhaps is that our son has Apple stock with an average price of $3.75/share owing to earlier splits.
I want a new quote from Laura. She must have posted something somewhere. Unless she’s hiding under a rock because of her sell recommendation on May. LOL
I think AAPL hit a new all-time high several times today.
I don’t think Steve Jobs cares as much about exceeding Intel or IBM’s market cap, as they’re not in the personal computer business. Exceeding HP was far more key.
KillBill,
Your questions are difficult to answer as SonyBMG is a joint-venture between Sony and a privately-held company (Bertlesmann) and NBC-Universal is a non-quoted entity that is largely held by GE.
GE is valued at around $420 billion, with NBC-Universal contributing around $2.4 billion/year in profits, which probably matches up to the estimated $43 billion valuation that was being bandied about back in October 2003 when the whole thing was being put together.
Vivendi, who the remainder of NBC-Universal and the whole of UMG, are worth around $49 billion; but a more cultured mind than mine would probably value the UMG element at about $9 billion (and that’s a stretch) whilst their stake in NBC-Universal is probably worth another $8 billion or so.
Sony, who for many years were alleged to be a future saviour of Apple, are now worth around $47.5 billion, which sounds significant until you realise that Research In Motion (the ‘Crackberry’ company) is valued at $63 billion which is only slightly under the market cap of Dell.
@Ralph M
You hit the nail on the head with your prediction/observation. This week is still “rumor,” in the loosest sense of the word; next week is “news,” and we ALL know what THAT means! (Instantaneous pullback . . . but only for a short while, as you said.)
After 15 years Steve is just a spark away from doing it: overtaking “Big Brother” IBM. And you’ll see why 2008 won’t be like “1984”… 😀
What’s with this IBM stuff. It’s Microsoft.
Just waiting for another pullback to pick up some more shares…
It’s much more apparent now to anal-ysts, etc., what I’ve been saying all year: Apple is a $200 stock waiting to happen. I’d say they’ll hit $250 by June 30, 2008.
Apple belongs at 20% market share U.S. and about 10% worldwide. Be interesting to see how long it takes for them to hit those levels.
Peace.

I look at these “All-time Closing High – Again” posts just to see if you are still quoting:
“I am putting a sell on Apple, the company that created the iPhone,” Laura Goldman, investment advisor, LSG Capital, May 21, 2007. AAPL closed at $111.98 that day. Apple has risen over 54% since Goldman’s “sell” recommendation.
LOL

@TowerTone
You had sex as a teenager, eh?
I find that hard to believe.
Oh wait, now I get it: your cousin tied you down and put a gerbil in your butt.
