  1. Was yesterday’s high set in intra-day trading? I don’t see how the stock rose over $2 when the high yesterday was only $1.04 less than today’s close. What was the closing price yesterday? What was today’s intra-day high?

  2. The convention is, take the stock price at previous day’s market closing and compare it to the price at today’s market closing. Yesterday, it closed at $156.34; today, it closed at $158.45 (as stated above). That marks the $2.11 difference. Intra-day, pre-market and after-hours trading is not tracked for statistical purposes, although it is often reported on when it breaks out of the overall market trends.

  3. Here’s what the nay-sayers still don’t get – Apple controls the whole ecosystem: 1) their OS; 2) their hardware and 3) their own stores. Not one of the big guys – MS, HP, Dell, Sony, Nokia, Verizon, et al has that capability. It’s too late for any of them to even attempt to enter all three arenas.

This is a classic B-school case study in vertical integration!

  4. The potential challenge and benefit of an expanding Market Cap:

“It is possible for stock markets to get caught up in an economic bubble, like the “dotcom mania”, and excess speculation, like any asset class such as gold or real estate. In such events, it is normal for companies to become valued on past momentum extrapolated into the future plus justified by a convincing story as well as success, until it goes wrong and the world mean-reverts, causing significant losses. Conversely, stock markets will usually be the primary transmission mechanism for most of the pleasant surprises that occur in the world’s economy.”

While Apple continues to successfully produce on the bottom line, their continuing success is vulnerable to external factors beyond their control. It’s these “external factors” where competition usually directs FUD and other negative media, hoping to create an air of uncertainty, fear and/or instability.

Apple is no longer “under the radar”. Their expanding operation may require a new business approach over the next three years for marketing, production and customer satisfaction efforts to maintain their effectiveness. Otherwise, a stumble (e.g iPhone marketing issues) could quickly become a fall.

  5. From what I hear and read in Apple discussions all over the place is that the upcoming premature launch of Leopard could mean to end of MDN’s fun with this tiresome headline.

Will we see a sell alert when the s*** hits the fan at the end of this month when Mac users around the world are asking how they can get back to Tiger after a disasterous 72 hours with a new Apple OS that doesnt work? Huh?

Read this fast, folks, cause MDN surely doesn’t tolerate any talk of Leopard not being ready! This post will ge gone in no time.

  6. Geez, all anyone has to do is look back a few years and see that the most zealous Apple freaks whine when anything is announced. Expect a load of it when Leopard comes, too.

Then, a few weeks later, read with amazement how the complainers now have “learned to like” the so-called monstrosity they berated a few days before. In short time, the whiners seem to think they’ve been the ones trumpeting change all along.

Holding Breath should keep holding. Blue suits you.

    WHY APPLE WILL FAIL!
    Apple Voted Most Consumer Unfriendly!

It did not suprise me at all that Mr. JOBS’ stock is taking a huge hit!
The public is starting to see through his shananagans (thanks in large measure to this website). For the uninitiated here are just a few:

    1. Droping the iPhone price by $200!
The public demands stable pricing of our products, large price increases are forgivable but drastic cuts only makes everyone feel like fools!

    2. Running NBC away!
Consumers want value to their products, NBC wanted to add value by increasing the cost of shows, Apple screwed you by not making your favorite shows more valuable.

    3. A myriad of iPod Options!
    (see previous post)

    …. You get the idea.
Apple is unfair to both retailers and consumers. They insist that your products be cheap! I know most of you are as insulted by this as we at MS are.

Boycott APPLE! Vote for value with your wallets!

  8. You fanboys need to sell all your Apple stock now. ASAP. The new Zune 2.0 has just come out and completely blows away any iPod version out there. In fact even the older Zune 1.0 are now going to have the same cutting edge new capabilities as the new one. You can squirt, but now its friendlier squirt since the 3 days limit is gone. Wifi for all so you can sync your Zune data to your computer via wifi, no browser to waste battery on wifi like that lame iPod Touch. That means better battery management by giving you WiFi the MS way. Awesome. Apple stock is going to take a serious beating tomorrow.

  9. It is clear you are not a beta tester. We are using the lates build of Leopard in our lab and, wow it is good!

With the latest build we have now researchers using it as main platform, not just testing or wetting their feet with it.

Leopard is and will be a blast. One thing, with the latest build we see zero, zilch beach balls. Leopard makes even and old Powerbook G4 shine again. The performance improvements on the intel MacPro 8-core and MBPs are simply outstanding!

Lobster, what use to spread FUD in here? You get caught in no time (as for all other trolls that lurk in shame)

  10. @Trinoids

if by Bill Gates you mean the citizen Bill Gates that who knows, he should hold AAPL if he is smart. If by Bill Gates you mean Microsoft, nope, MS does not hold stocks of Apple, they got sold (with a large profit) years ago.

Funnily so, Apple DOES have Microsoft stocks and appears on the list of companies holding a bit of MS.

  11. Ok you heard it herd it here.

only want mac people to listen to this. So fat PC people go away!!!

    First:

    Google shares, Sell sell
I reckon what do they do other than a search engine well.
tHEY NEED OT GET THERE a Into G.

Also Apples are going to double soon.
My name is Anthony and I am just a fin smart dud. Lonely on this planet of retards.
