I've heard mention of a guy who's already visited most of the stores-- at least as of a year or so ago. Not sure if he's still doing it. Probably broke and bored.

No big sales of Macs in Scotland. The many sided threepenny bit was made that way so that you could use a wrench (spanner) to get them out of Scottish pockets.

I would have too admit that Glasgow is a much more creative place, by far. Edinburgh has far far too many suits and ties, a haven of Lawyers and Accountants. Edinburgh is the most creative place in the world for three weeks in the year!

I have been to Scotland many times and the Jocks are great people. My surname is Scottish and one of the great clans but, do they deserve a Mac store before the rest of the Apple world that, as yet, does not have one? I say NO.

Most of the folk there will be too drunk or beaten up to notice.

The reason its in Glasgow is probably beacause it's Britain's second most popular shopping city, after London.

As a citizen of Glasgow by choice not birth, I am not surprised Glasgow gets the store before Edinburgh as this is the commercial and design heart of Scotland. The fact that it's the largest retail area outside of London might have something to do with it too.

I pass this building twice a day on my way to and from work. Looks like the digital camera will be taking a few trips with me in 2007. I hope it doesn't kill the Scotsys store on the Great Western Road, as they have flown the flag for many years.

And to those diddies who have had offensive things to say about Glasgow, its people and Scotland in general, get it right roond ye as they say hereabouts.

Finally Apple takes the plunge and goes north of the border. Glasgow's lack of a store when London has three and Manchester two was getting embarrassing. Most American readers won't realise just how big a conurbation Glasgow and it's surrounding towns is.

Simply replacing the old Apple Centre Glasgow once had at SECC. Pity people waste so much time displaying their prejudices and ignorance. I've never been anywhere that didn't have its good and bad points. Get out more!
