Apple to announce Q308 financial results today
Monday, July 21, 2008 - 08:38 AM EST

A reminder: Apple will post earnings results for their third quarter 2008 after market close today (we'll have the results here on MacDailyNews/iPodDailyNews as soon as possible, right around 4:30pm EDT). Apple will then hold their fiscal year 2008 third quarter (Q308) financial results conference call on Monday, July 21, 2008, 2pm PDT/5pm EDT for which we plan to post live notes.

Apple will provide live audio streaming of its Q308 conference call utilizing Apple’s industry-leading QuickTime multimedia software.

The live audio webcast will be accessible through Apple’s website at here.

Viewers simply need a copy of QuickTime 6 or QuickTime 7 to listen to the conference call.

QuickTime 7 is available via www.apple.com/quicktime.

MacDailyNews Note: Analysts consensus estimates for Apple's Q3 08 call for $1.08 EPS, on revenue of $7.35 billion, or 35.9% YOY sales growth. Peter Oppenheimer, Apple’s CFO, has provided guidance of "about $7.2 billion and earnings per diluted share of about $1.00.”

No matter what the results are that Apple stock will go down. Of course I think I'm over-stating the obvious.

I think we know Apple is rolling in cash. I am just waiting for the Christmas season to roll around. That is when the big bucks are going to flow.

@Kman

I think you're under-stating the obvious. WS will surely downgrade Apple no matter what.

Even if there is NO bad news / forecasts / rumors / speculations, that will be bad news too.

BUT, that's good news. Cause it means more cheap stock for all the rest of us, until the "experts" figure out, that Apple actually is recession-proof.

The WS analysts need to get their heads out of their rectums.

Where were they when the financial guys were raping consumers and lending money to people that didn't have a nickel to their name?

Too many people follow advice from these knuckleheads ...

@Something rotten?

Of course the stock's going to go down. Didn't you hear from TheStreet.com that Steve Jobs may be killed by a faulty office chair?

THE HAZARDS ARE REAL!!!

Like all other Apple reports this one should also be low on specifics.

Funny, when Microsoft stock falls Apple fanbois piss their pants with glee that analysts have confirmed their accusations of Microsoft's inadequacy; but when Apple stock falls Apple fanbois wail that Wall Street conspirators and collaborators are plotting Apple's demise and has nothing to do with Apple's blunders and failures.

You morons, you can't have it both ways.

...By tomorrow, some people will have earned 8-10$ a share!
See how they do everything to get them the lowest possible now... they'll jump wild as soon as results poor tonight.

That's because Microsoft doesn't have anything worth while. Vista is a total failure, even MS execs have admitted it. Apple has everything going for it, OSX, Macs that can run multiple OS's, the iPod, the iPhone and iPhone 3G. Building market share. There should be no reason for the stock to be falling, except for stupid analists that put out false information to manipulate the market.
Oh and I spelled analysts, analists on purpose by the way.
So why don't you PISS OFF YOURSELF!!!!!!!

Jul 21, 08 - 11:31 am Comment from: Macintosher

To start something sensible (although that option probably won't work), I wonder if more people, in these times of recession, will realise that because of the huge tech support bills that PC users run up (but Mac users don't) Apple will become popular because overall they provide cheaper solutions. Let us all remain hopeful...

Ignore the troll.

Most of us know who he is and why he should always be ignored.

@Short this Pig:

"To 120 ahahahahahahahahah"

Oh yes, Please. Please. I wanted to buy a few more shares when it was at 129 but my stock guy screwed up and it missed. Since then its been up to 170-190 and never looked back.

The money is still there. Just waiting for a quick dip. grin

Sadly, I think the only was I will see 120 again is after Apple does a stock split. :-(

Just a thought.
