Apple will be celebrating the Grand Opening of their latest retail store, Apple Store, Mall of Louisiana in Baton Rouge on March 6th which is a rare Thursday Grand Opening and also the day on which Apple has invited members of the media to join them in Cupertino, CA to learn about the iPhone software roadmap, including the iPhone SDK and some exciting new enterprise features.
To celebrate the Grand Opening, Apple is featuring a week of exciting events. In the store, Apple will have a variety of unique and educational presentations, demonstrations and workshops — all free of charge. The first 1,000 people to visit the Apple Store receive a free Apple Store, Mall of Louisiana t-shirt.

I’ve never been to the Best Buy to see their Apple store/section but now I wouldn’t need to. I just wonder if BB even offers anything like the Apple stores do as far as training both free and the One on One? I’m very interested in the 1-on-1 personally and whatever else they have offered.
I wish I know what and if there will be an assortment of goodies besides the t-shirt. Or if there’s a sweepstakes that you can enter after grand opening day. Right now it looks like I won’t be able to go and that sux. LSS/Long Story Short: I need transportation since I can’t drive my own vehicle, a stick shift, due to surgery on my left foot. 🙁 Oh well, maybe someone out there will post a few pics and any pertinent information. Maybe I’m not missing much. 😐 I suppose if this store is a success, which I’m sure it will be, maybe I’ll attend the next closest one in the near future. I thought this would be an ideal time to go since I’m assuming the line will be short, the initial crowd will be minimal due to the odd day Thursday, no holiday, I’m not working right now and short notice.
