well, for those who thought the timing of October didnt make sense... just think about it. Apple unloads current stock of MB/MB pros prior to school season for the reasonable purchaser. Then baits those who want something new, when they might have bought one with the MB + free iPod deal. Smart. The stock is up on news. So, i missed my opportunity to get AAPL as low as 82. Oh well... that's why we do options.

Congrats to "Invitation Day" who informed you yesterday that today would be Invitation Day!

Finally!!! I will be getting one. My iBook G4, bless its heart, still works great, but I need some speed. I am psyched.

This will be my first Apple ever. Been waiting for this since a family member showed me his old G4 15 months ago on a family reunion in Austria. Wanted a Macbook ever since.

So it's either new laptops next Tuesday or alien spaceships are going to appear over Alabama.

His point was that the economic downturn will hurt a lot of suburban people, who aren't necessarily white, or very affluent, and it will be difficult to sell these new MacBooks to them.

I say not really. I don't think Apple's target market will feel the crunch as badly as the average population. We'll know for sure in about ten days, when they announce guidance for the next quarter.

I, for one, voted 'no'.

Apple usually refreshes laptops (yeah, i know, usually just the Macbooks) before the back-to-school season, so color me surprised about this one. I suppose they wanted to definitely get these done before Christmas though.

Now I know what I'll be asking Santa to bring.
