There is a large unused retail space at One Times Square (where the ball drops this Monday night) in Manhattan. If any place would be appropriate for a superstore, that is it. Some 6 years ago, it used to be Warner Brothers store. There are three levels and if there is any place on this planet that gets more foot traffic than this, I would like to see it. More than half of city's subway lines intersect below that building. I wonder what's the rent and has Apple ever considered it...

Forget Times Square. It's full of tourists and other undesirables. No one visiting such a store would actually buy & lug home a Mac. Put the store in a neighborhood where real people work & live.

Apple could have been way ahead of the curve and spotted a place in Red Hook.

"]IKEA[/url] on the cusp of opening their doors, the amount of traffic (ugh for us who live/work there) will outnumber any other location in Brooklyn. Besides, where else can you get your Apple pieces and pick up a key lime pie in the process.

There is already a Mac authorised repair/reseller in Brooklyn [the first I admit] on 7th street between 2nd and 3rd Avenues. Not exactly a cutesy neighbourhood. However, it's arrived and that's good enough for me.

As far as the location of an Apple Store in Brooklyn goes the money in this borough is definitely NOT in Williamsburg, it's in Park Slope or Brooklyn Heights/Cobble Hill. All the writers in the city are moving to or are already in Park Slope fer chrissakes.
