Apple’s ‘feature complete’ Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard Developer (9A466) leaks

Apple’s “feature complete” Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard Developer (9A466) has leaked on file sharing services.

Various MacDailyNews readers report that the 6.06GB .dmg installs, seems stable, and has no problem running various popular applications.

Last August, at least five employees of an Apple retail store were fired after downloading copies of Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard from the Internet that were distributed to developers at Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2006.

  1. I knew of a few retail employees that “quit” after sharing 10.5 last year.

Apple should do what it did when they released 10.0 Beta. Let people purchase it for a nominal fee and try it out–have it expire in November.

I’ll more than likely aquire it and I’ll still be standing in line at my local Apple Store to get it in October.

  2. The Bastards! They should be rooted out, blind folded and lined in a windowless room & then be subjected to a remorseless barrage of evil farting from a variety of Camel Milk drinkers!

No one will ever contemplate such a move again after they see the after effects on the leaking sods.

  3. It was only a matter of time. Ever release of the beta has been ‘leaked’ on the P2P networks. What makes you think that it was an Apple employee? You know it was a WWDC member. I am surprise that it hasn’t appeared soon.

  4. ChrissyOne, you’ve created an impression of leadership here at the MDN forums. Someone with brains. Someone who people can turn to for an example. It’s a shame you’ve given in to your temptations, and crossed the legal line. I hope that’s as far as it went and you’re not helping to distribute further copies. Hope my impression of you wasn’t wrong.

  5. @ChrissyOne,

You said “been running it all week”, a comment in response to an article about a developer leak. That leads one to believe you’re running a leaked version.

My apologies if my statement struck you the wrong way. That wasn’t my intention.

Piracy of software sucks, so I’m glad you never went there.

  6. ChrissyOne-

I won’t gone on a total rant here – because it’s totally off topic. Would you pass on to the GoLive9 folks to make the code more compliant with Dreamweaver. They have completely F’d it up.

MW: said – there I said it
