Apple’s iPhone Dev Program now open to international developers
Monday, May 05, 2008 - 09:30 AM EDT

Apple's iPhone Developer Program page on Apple website has changed, Italian-language website setteB.IT reports.

Previously, Apple's webpage stated, "The iPhone Developer Program will initially be available to a limited number of developers in the U.S. and will expand to other countries in the coming months." Now, it states, "The iPhone Developer Program will initially be available to a limited number of developers during the beta period."

So, international developers can now buy the electronic certificate, just like the US developers, to place their applications on App Store when Apple activates it.

setteB.IT's report in Italian here.

setteB.IT's report in English (via Google translation) here.

In addition, TUAW is reporting that a UK developer bought the standard certificate for £59.

Good news !!! We'd like more international stuff coming from Apple... like an international iTunes store for the other countries that don't have a store, and people would pay with an internatioanal credit card... like international movie rentals, more Apple stores, etc...

@ Mac+

Couldn't agree with you more. I'm sure there are many talented programmers elsewhere in the world that can contribute greatly to the iPhone's future success.

And I for one have been waiting for the iTunes Store to offer movies/tv shows/etc for rental/purchase in this part of the world (Southeast Asia) for a long time. I really hope Apple start looking after us over here soon!
