  1. This is going to sound stupid to a lot of people, so spare me the ridicule in advance : ) How does a game like this work on a Mac? Do I need a joystick or something to play this on my MBP? I liked CoD: Big Red One for PS2, so I’m actually very interested by this news…

  2. I’ve been playing this some time on my iMac booted in Vista. Good game. I have Vista for two reasons: games and SolidWorks. Hey, PCs are good for games, what can I say. They run great on the iMac. I still run WOW in Mac mode.

  3. Poor, sad little Reality Check mumbled something about “playing games”.

If Reality Check would only take his name to heart!

    Ineffectual Reality Check?

Every Mac currently sold by Apple runs every Windows game on the market.

    Really!

Now please, crawl back under your rock with your OS limited computer, and continue living in the past.

Your ego will live longer there, trust me.

Are you retarted? Can you not see the title? Why would they make a game already for windows for the mac if mac can already play them? You sir are an idiot. Now why don’t you get get a bit more common sense?

Every Intel Mac CAN run Windows and every Windows game (assuming specs are met) as Sixvodkas said. The reason they’re bothering to release a Mac version is because most Mac users aren’t willing to put up with Windows just to play a game. I’m one of them.

  6. The responses sound just like the game chat on multi-plater Call of Duty UO game servers. Testosterone poisoned adolescents. UGH

This is supposed to be a good game.

Why would I want to run Windows on my MacBook Pro, anyway? Just the thought f it gives me a creepy feeling.

  7. Actually, the reason they port it to the Mac is that it uses DirectX 10 in Windows, which many video cards in Macs don’t support. Sure, it will run, but not as well as with a DirectX 10 card. So, the Mac version has been ported over to use OpenGL, which the Mac cards do support.

Of course, in a Mac Pro, you can put any Windows video card in there to use in Windows, even if there are no Mac drivers for it. But, most people don’t have Mac Pros. This release is for those using iMacs, MacBooks, and MacBook Pros (and I suppose Mac minis, but those are pretty anemic for gaming).

  8. Lame. COD4 – Been playing through bootcamp for 12 months.

Call of Duty: World at War (basically COD5) is coming out imminently for PC.

Way too late. Sad. I appreciate what Aspyr is doing but waaaay too late.

The only good use right now for Windows is simply to play the most current games. Let’s hope that changes soon! ” width=”19″ height=”19″ alt=”smile” style=”border:0;” />

  9. “Infinity Ward has also included Kill-Cam, a fan favorite feature that they created in Call of Duty 2” – the killcam was already in the first version of Call of Duty, also the map Carentan. Great game on PC, let´s wait and compare the performances with OpenGL!

  10. It’s nice that there’s a mac version now, but this game is coming out a bit late all the same, so I’m not sure it’s going to sell all that well. I’ve been playing it on my 360 since it came out last November and still play it to this day (the multiplayer is amazing).

I can’t find anything on the Aspyr site about whether the map editor from the pc version is included. That’s really the only real benefit of buying the pc version over the 360 or PS3 versions.

  11. Yeah, this was supposed to be out last April/May. I held off on the PC version in February, thinking I’d wait 2 months. I never did end up buying it, and now I probably won’t. Thanks Aspyr for the effort, but you lost a sale because of the 5 month delay.
