That's great and all, but I would rather Apple and ATnT raise the price by $100 and throw up a tower or two in my area so that I could partake.

I love my touch, but every time I leave the comfy confines of my office or home, I'm reminded of the limits of wi-fi.

Please, oh please, invest more in your infrastructure!!!!!!!!

Are there that many 3G's being returned? Hmm perhaps the Storm isn't the only device with a high return rate.

There have been somewhere around 10 million iPhone 3G's sold to date. If they even have a one half of one percent (.005) return rate that would make fifty thousand phones.

I just went on-line and got myself one of those 16 GB refurbished iPhones from AT&T;... should be in my hands by new years!

You know, with all of these cheaper iPhones being offered, I'm wondering if they're dumping these devices for an upcoming next generation iPhone that is due to be released in a few months. What do you think?

And I might add; yes you can get a refurb for $100 less. Nice, but that isn't really a huge discount. Including taxes iPhone service on AT&T;is nearly $80 each month.
If a $100 initial purchase price makes a big difference in you buying decision you need to understand how big a commitment a 2 year service plan is for a smart-phone.

If you were talking a $100 discount for a refurb iPod touch, then I would agree, that would be a really big deal.

So no this does not signal clearing inventory ahead of a new model release (though given apple's innovation level, I would expect a new model by at least late summer or fall (possibly before)
