  1. Waiting on ATT to pull the plug again. They started the service, oops wrong time, did it again, ooops-sorry, and maybe the third time is the charm?!.

  2. This is from AT&Ts;website

iPhone users, get started with Wi-Fi

Activate Wi-Fi from the settings icon on your iPhone
Select “attwifi” from the list of available networks
Enter your 10-digit mobile number and check the box to agree to the Acceptable Use Policy. Tap ‘continue’
You will receive a text message from AT&T;with a secure link to the AT&T;Wi-Fi hotspot. You will not be charged for the text message.
The SMS link will only be valid for 24 hours at the location it was requested. Another request must be submitted when using another hotspot location.
Open the text message and tap on the link for 24-hour access to the AT&T;Wi-Fi hotspot

Lurrvly. But I wonder whatever happened to the iTunes WiFi Music Store. It just kinda faded away, it seems.

It didn’t fade away. When you are on a WiFi network, you can use the iTunes WiFi Music Store. I do it all the time. Could you be talking about something else?

  4. LOLZ, had this in UK since launch day.

Plus London still has far more wireless network access points with 12,276 than either New York City, with 9,227, or Paris, with 4,481 — although not all of those with O2.

But I certainly have had good use of wifi on iPhone and now with iPhone 3G outside London too.

Glad you are finally getting similar in USA.

  5. El Guapo,

He was talking about the “Now playing…” button in iTunes when you’re on Starbucks WiFi. The idea was that when you’re in the Starbucks, and hooked up to their WiFi, there would be an icon inside iTunes Store (on your phone and touch) where you could see what was currently playing in that store, and you could buy the song/album right away.

  6. Steve516,

They ARE doing something about 3G service; this is IT! They are trying to get all those Starbucks people to get off their 3G network and onto the WiFi network when they surf incessantly while sipping their venti non-fat moccha no foam latte…

  7. I just got a text message, from AT&T;, confirming this.

Hopefully, the economy will turn around soon. With things being as they are, I’ve cut out the five dollar coffees, so it may be a while before I can try this.

  8. personally, I don’t drink coffee and rarely go to starbucks, but i do like going to mcdonalds. I believe they have an att option on their wifi. I’ll check it out when I’m eating my egg mcmuffin tomorrow morning
