"Tech stocks rallied along with the broader market on during an abbreviated session on 'Black Friday,'" Dan Gallagher reports for MarketWatch.

"The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed the day up more than 180 points, as anticipation about consumer spending outweighed concerns from the troubled financial sector. See market snapshot," Gallagher reports.

"The tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite Index ($COMPQ: 2,596.60, +34.45, +1.3%) jumped more than 1.3% to close at 2,596.60," Gallagher reports.

"Apple Inc. (AAPL: $171.54, +3.08, +1.8%) gained 1.8% by the close," Gallagher reports.
