I have to spend $4.99? PUUHHLEASE

Mar 12, 09 - 09:44 am Comment from: Harsh Buttrue

Eddy,

You're at the wrong website, you fscking cheap shit Windows PC drone.

Head on over to Dell.com and go fsck yourself while you're at it.

Apple should require an IQ test and a minimum acceptable score before they'll sell someone a product.

Of course, if they did that in the U.S.A., they'd never sell anything.

This was great news for about 10 seconds until I saw that they were charging $5 for it. I'm, uh...NOT going to be paying $5 for an app that's only good for 2 1/2 weeks. Too bad, it looks pretty sweet. Oh well, at least we aren't being forced to suffer through listening to Billy Packer this year.

Mar 12, 09 - 09:47 am Comment from: Bought It Instantly

This is what Apple gets for making their products Windows-compatible: a bunch of mentally retarded cheapskates who whine and moan over a $4.99 app while buying $4.99 coffees daily.

College basketball fans see the value, even if money-grubbing PC whiner assholes don't.

Mar 12, 09 - 09:56 am Comment from: Wish I Was Here

Bought it Instantly, if that comment is referring to me, you can kiss my ass. I'm writing this from my Macbook, I've got $150 of apps on my iPhone, which I bought for $600 on the day they were first released. It's YOUR opinion that the app is worth it, it's MY opinion that it's a rip off to charge $5 for something that's only good for 2 1/2 weeks. And for what it's worth, I live 20 minutes from the campuses of Carolina and Duke, been a Carolina guy for 30 years, so March Madness is just about my favorite thing ever. So you can keep your dumbass judgmental comments to yourself. I bet you wish they'd bring Billy Packer back too, huh?

Attention Wal-Mart shoppers:

Please go off yourselves and leave the planet for those of us with money, brains, and taste.

Thank you.

Mar 12, 09 - 10:03 am Comment from: Wish I Was Here

Again, you can kiss my ass. I have all of those three things, plus common sense (google it, since you obviously don't have it or know what it is).

Mar 12, 09 - 10:15 am Comment from: jjjj

well, it's 1000% free to your Mac at http://mmod.ncaa.com/

the rub? You need Silverlight 2.0 - but I don't mind that because Netflix uses that as well..

Mar 12, 09 - 10:18 am Comment from: Noodles Noodlemann

This site is getting to be pretty lame with all of the name calling and posturing.

Buy it, don't buy it. It's up to each person whether it's worth it and not be chastised for their opinion.

If the internet has one downside, it's the loss of civility and manners. Wimps getting all tough saying stuff they wouldn't dare say to someone's face.

Geez, the posters are beating the shit out of each other today over a freakin' app.

My two cents is that it will be surely worth $4.99 for some people, especially the ones who've thrown down a bunch of money already in multiple pools and want to keep track at work and on the road, etc.

However, I will say this: Had they priced the app at .99, EVERYONE would have bought it and I'm guessing they ultimately would have sold more than five times as many and made more money off it.

From a pure business perspective, I think they blew it.

Mar 12, 09 - 11:12 am Comment from: chaz

@ MidWest Mac

When it comes to sports, they don't make anything cheap. It's all about charging the most the top 20% might be willing to pay, and hope the peer pressure causes others to buy who really can't afford it.

Mar 12, 09 - 11:31 am Comment from: 7over

Now... if the NFL could get in on this action and make a live streaming app for your favorite NFL team... THAT would be worth the $4.99. ... as long as it was for the whole season and not just one game anyway!
If it works well, they could clean up at .99 cents per game and there are many people who would probably pay more.

I don't know, what would you be willing to pay for a live streaming NFL app that tuned into your favorite team?

Mar 12, 09 - 11:31 am Comment from: grok

Thank goodness - I would pay this and much more for streaming tournament games. As it is, games are shown online at ACC Select, a vile MS Silverlight site that is like watching the games through a mason jar filled with dog pee.

Go Heels!

Mar 12, 09 - 11:34 am Comment from: Zune Tang®

Live, Wi-Fi viewing or listening of any game I want? Big deal.

I can play WMA-format rebroadcasts of games on my Dell Ditty after I sync it up to my Gateway running Windows Vista. The Ditty has a screen and buttons unlike the I-Pod Shuffle that doesn't have either, and the Shuffle can't play WMA files. And one more thing: I'll listen for FREE! Suck it, MAC dorks!

Your potential. Our passion.™

Mar 12, 09 - 01:56 pm Comment from: KenC

Honestly, I'm shocked that people find $5 too much to pay for streaming video of all the games, no matter that it's just for a few weeks. People waste far more time and money trying to find a place to watch the games. Being able to watch or listen anywhere is a huge benefit.

We're talking $5. Go to a bar to watch and how much is your beer, or do you just go for the free popcorn?

Wish I Was Here...money, brains, taste...1 outta 3 ain't bad. Brains and taste...that went out the window when you admitted to being a Tarholes fan. BTW, as a "Carolina" man, did you actually go to UNC? Growing up and living in NC all my life, I am all too familiar with the number Carolina "people" who have never stepped foot on campus. Go Davidson Wildcats!! LOL
