This must really grate, because the Gadget Show has been quite transparently anti-Apple in the recent past.

I went off the Gadget Show when they drop-tested a PC and a G4…and concluded that the PC was the better option as it was cheaper to fix, parts-wise.

I'm curious to know was Steve will do when he receives the award – use it as a rectal implant for Monkeyboy?

And why not? Apple have been taking it up the khyber from M$ for too long. It's payback time smile

Bwwhhhaaaaaaa…

Weird as I remember them awarding the first iPhone Gadget of the year last year.

Khyber Pass, Ass.

Hadn't heard that piece of rhyming slang before.

I may be somewhat biased but to my Mac oriented mind, the Gadget Show tends to mention an Apple product positively at least once every week and, if you look closely, you'll see at least one Apple product every show.

My memory may fail me but I don't remember a prize list without at least two products therein!

I'm sure they don't get "product placement" fees but, if you counted all instances of "Apple love", they probably deserve them!

Well the bald guy boasts about all his Apple stuff to the point that last week they tried to wean him off them, I think in the 'interest' of trying to be inclusive. Although they suggested LastFM instead of itunes (not really close competitors in my book I use both) and organised a few loaded tests that suggested a google phone was an alternative to the iphone it was very obviously unscientific, and deliberately not objective or serious and in the end the Macbook trounced the pc alternative. So while I initially did think they seemed a little anti Apple I realise now that they are simply trying not to look too over fixated on the brand. Thats good or they might look a little sycophantic something I would rather leave to Fester's love children.

Jason used to be incredibly anti-Apple when the show first began as he was a major PC user and ardent gamer (he's been on the show a few times with the PC he built for gaming).

A friend-of-a-friend used to share a flat with him (and Jason used to pop into his comic shop for mags) and he was always slagging Apple off but has turned to the light in the last couple of series through testing bits of Apple kit.

Sometimes he seems soo enthusiastic it's a bit embarrassing... :/
