  1. Mexico is selling the iPhone with TELCEL already, but it cost about $980 Dlls. Does any body knows if that is legal? Telcel sales man said that the iPhone is not a “unlock or hacked” phone, he said that it is legal and it came with the warranty and telcel’s bill.

  2. @iPhone guy
TelCel is not selling the iPhone, you were talking with a “Re-Seller”

and he is selling you a jail broken unlocked iPhone, that has a TelCel amigo simm in it.

Your best bet is to acquire an iPhone and use this guy to unlock, my friends and I have unlocked over 10 so far,

or this guy will sell you one for $7,500 peso

We will not see a TelCel iPhone until we have an iTunes store, and remember we just received an Apple online store a few weeks ago.

Every thing works fine except the visual voice mail

  3. China won’t go for a Apple kickback deal.

They will make their own because the Chinese Government has a agenda.

The Chinese haven’t been paying Microsoft for years, why should they start with Apple?

  4. iPhone is surprisingly popular in Shanghai and sold in every electronics market. The 30+ Apple dealers don’t have them though, and are a bit steamed about it. They also can’t sell cheaper memory even the guy 5 feet from their door is selling the same Kingston RAM for 1/3 of the price.

It will be interesting to see how China Telecom (or Unicom) handles this iPhone deal, who has the upper hand? The phone is already available in the market and will be.

What I’d like to know is are the phones making a trip to Hong Kong or are they smuggled out directly from the factory, which is about 50 miles away from Shanghai.
