  1. And note that the 3G GPS iPad has not started shipping yet. I got one the first day and will get a 3G iPad next.

The iPad was a big hit at a party Sunday. I think Apple has a few new customers coming in this week. One never owned a PC or Mac. I suggested that she go in to the Apple store with a list of what she wants to do and they will set her up with either an iPad or a MacBook to meet her needs. She also needs a Internet connection from the cable company. That iPad really impressed her and several others! Even the young 2 to 5 year old kids loved it. Big Christmas coming this year!

  2. Bill Gates: “…there’s nothing on the iPad I look at and say, ‘Oh, I wish Microsoft had done it.’ ” Well, Microsoft hasn’t done it because they didn’t see it nor do they (ever?) understand it. A lot of people don’t understand what the iPad is about. It is especially hard for techies. They only see the technical device and don’t see the total environment. In fact, at this point, only Apple could have made it. The train left the station quite a while ago. The iPod, iTunes, the iTunes Store, the iPhone and the App Store are part of the success. Without them, the iPad would not nearly be half as successful. Steve has created an environment or even a new universe. The competitors are too late for that. They should not give up though. Competition is good. In fact, it would be good for Apple to have some stronger competitors. But anyhow, the iPad seems to be a huge success.

  3. This website doesn’t have a clue how to determine how many iPads have been sold. The first number Apple released was 300,000+. This website had the number at 700,000. They have adjusted it again when Steve released how many iPads were sold at the the 4.0 conference.

  4. I was at a meeting last week where the IT director of my university described plans to go meet with Apple execs in Cupertino to work on a deal to purchase hundreds of iPads for students. Ours cannot be the only university thinking this way.

    The iPad will be huge.

  5. I saw one in an airport last week. All the while, the fellow was working away on his iPad, oblivious to all the staring. And the drooling going on around him. Great fun to watch! But I wish mine would ship…

  6. 1 million iPads sold means 2 million Broadcom chips sold and 1 million Cirrus Logic chips sold. Cirrus reports April 27 and you should buy stocks on these companies right now! I own stock in these.
