CNET: Macworld Expo and CES double booked in January 2007
Friday, January 13, 2006 - 03:49 PM EST"Macworld Expo and the Consumer Electronics Show will collide next year, with the dates for the two major tech events virtually overlapping for the conventions' entire durations," Dawn Kawamoto reports for CNET News. "For the first time since 2002, avid tech convention attendees may find themselves double-booked in early January. The Apple Computer hoopla of Macworld is scheduled to run from Jan. 8 to 12 in San Francisco, while the gadget mania of CES is on tap for Jan. 8 to 11 in Las Vegas."
"'We've always had our event in the second week of January, beginning on Monday. They're the ones who changed the date,' said Mike Sponseller, a spokesman for IDG World Expo, operator of Macworld," Kawamoto reports. "CES, which usually kicks off around the second weekend in January, had to go with its 2007 dates because of its contract with the convention center in Las Vegas, noted Leah Arnold, a CES spokeswoman."
