Along with images, Wrapprz.com is offering “skins” for “Apple iPod Nano (4th-Gen) Coming Sept. 9th” which — whoops! — haven’t been announced (yet).
More info here.
MacDailyNews Take: Uh, guys, about that “Made for iPod” application: Don’t bother.
[Thanks to MacDailyNews Reader “Jeff” for the heads up.]
The owner of Wrapprz.com was awakened by the roar of a Gulfstream jet landing in his suburban cul-de-sac. Within seconds, several dozen red laser dots danced about his chest and face. He’s not returning calls.
That back image is of the WEB programmer that posted these jumping off a cliff.
SJ: “Send in the Ninjas!!”
oops….
hahahahaaaa… thanx 4 playing Wrapprz.com… cya!
Mind: ‘mind’. As in, ‘Re: prerelease; do you think SJ will?’
I hope that “stretching” the ipod nano isn’t the backbone of todays BIG event.
Good one, Nick!
What a shame, they don’t have a Hello Kitty wrap.
Medical examiner on the scene: “What the hell? Why is there a small iPod in this guy’s rectum?”
still dont know the price…
I agree with you “yawn”
There really needs to be some additional functionality – otherwise it’ll be like TA-DAH! And there will be silence.
However, I’m concerned about Apple breaking too much ground today, since we’ve all seen what happens when you’ve got too many balls in the air.
They’re in a tough spot today … we shall see …
The left one looks like the owner of Wrapprz already in Steve’s cross-hairs.
The images in question are still up on Wrapprz.com. Is it because the product is “Made in Canada” that they were able to ‘jump the gun’, or is it that Yobbo on their front page that screwed the pooch?
Under their section on ‘upcoming events’, today’s Apple event isn’t even mentioned. Maybe they never got the meemo? Who knows?
Next up will be their take on the yet to be revealed, new MacTablet. (Dag! Did again!! Double sorry everyone, sorry…)
The pictures are coming down right at this moment. I’ve managed to snag a couple of screenshots though.
That does not look like an ipod….
but guess what… IT DOES NOW!
I sense a Service Temporarily Unavailable page coming… wait for it, wait for it….
Perhaps it was posted from Fiji, where it is already Sept 10th, thus they are not in violation of the NDA prohibiting disclosure until then.
the enlargements don’t show the actual product images. just some bad Photoshop mockups.
Did anyone else notice that all the macbooks shown (including 15″ and 17″ macbook pros) are black with silver keyboards. That’s bigger news to me than the ghetto new ipods.
Why would the owners of warpz.com be privy to exclusive, inside information from Apple about the shape and look of the next-gen iPods? As if warpz is such an important partner to Apple that they would just get all the info that Steve normally has employees shot on site for revealing.
Well, that didn’t take long. Site’s down.
-jcr
Yeah, they’re done
The site’s not down.
@ChunkyB:
I wouldn’t put much stock in that. Who knows what laptop image they were laying those skins on. Notice that they aren’t listed as “New Products;” only the 4G nano skins are.
Not that I wouldn’t LOVE there to be new MacBooks today.
“Thanks to MacDailyNews Reader “Jeff” for the heads up.”
And the contact at wrapprz.com is named Jeff (http://www.wrapprz.com/Home/Employment_Opportunities.html).
Coincidence?

If you’re looking at the enlarged images you’ll see that it’s just part of the skin; Apple’s original silver screws are still visible, and Apple would absolutely never put silver screws into a black MacBook…
” width=”19″ height=”19″ alt=”wink” style=”border:0;” />
(Plus, of course the trackpad is still silver.)
nope, the site is not down at this moment.. *shrug*
@Nick Fury
Apple Product Security is a battle hardened group after the MobileMe incident. Tracking down dissidents is now fast and easy.

There’s no way that’s part of the skin. First of all, you wouldn’t put a sticker over the speaker vents. Second of all, how would they get a sticker on the inside of the usb/headphone ports, as well as the door on the PCI Express slot. I say it’s black, through and through.
And it’s not just any generic laptop. It’s pretty obvious that it’s a mac.
@ChunkyB
I agree with you that the skin only covers the back/top (ping is wrong,) but I think they just futzed with the colors on the laptop to avoid contrast issues with the skin and the background.

Of course it is.
But Apple would not be caught dead putting silver screws and trackpads on a black MacBook. Forget it. It’s just not done. It’s apparently a part of the skin.
Furthermore it is practically certain that the next MacBook Pro will get the same keyboard as the MacBook, MacBook Air and the thin USB/Bluetooth aluminium one. In these images it’s still the old one.
The MacBook Pro skins are also not marked as “new” as the iPod nano (4th Gen) ones are.
Today is an iPod/music event. The new MacBook Pro will get its own separate event.
I call the probability of the newly designed MacBook Pros today at 0.001%. And the probability of black ones with silver screws and silver trackpads at almost exactly 0%.
@ Zorpo
You’re probably right. I guess different colors on some ghetto website are far from a confirmation.
@ Ping
They currently have a silver laptop with a black keyboard, so I don’t think it would be totally out of the question to have a black laptop with a silver keyboard and trackpad and screws (well, maybe not the screws).
Yep, I knew it! Now the iPod Touch?
There were several other companies that had ideas and prints of what the new Nano was going to look like. All anyone had to do was do a google search for it. What’s the big deal?
Gotta agree with CG. Wrapprz only had images of the predicted “new Nano” which they probably got off the web (measurements etc.). No one knew for sure what they were going to look like, but it was all over the web days ago. They “Wrapprz” weren’t the only ones offering products for sale before the launch. They are only selling skins not the actual iPod. Some people are way too serious.
Wow, you guys have fantastic imaginations! Nick Fury, you kill me! Ok so I just want to clarify a few points so you can all relax a little.
First, let me say that we have no inside knowledge about anything Apple does. Our info came from the all those images that were floating around the web. They looked pretty credible to me and we decided to go with what we were seeing.
Second, we have no NDA with Apple so you can turn off those red lasers now.
Why did we put up these images early? The images of the ipod were already all over the web. Kevin Rose put the images on his site a week ago. So we felt the cat was already out of the bag and we wanted to get the jump on other skin makers.
Oh, did I say that our skins are the best on the planet.
Thanks to all of you that wrote such funny stuff here. We all got a real kick out of it.
Oh, and by the way Steve, no hard feelings. Ok?
Jeff
