Dell dumps line of hard drive-based MP3 players, nobody notices for over a month
Monday, February 06, 2006 - 11:54 AM EDT

"Dell has dropped its line of hard drive-based MP3 players, but it's taken more than a month for anyone to notice. The absence of the Pocket Digital Jukebox players from Dell's website was spotted last week by Bloomberg. "Apple continues to dominate the market. In the US, it has a market share of around 70 per cent. Creative and Samsung have under ten per cent apiece, so there's not much left for all the other player providers, of whom there are many, Dell among them," Smith reports.

Didn't they kill this thing years ago?

That is pathetic but expected. Make a crappy product and nobody will by it.

Then again, that doesn't explain Windows...

I'm shocked over this news. After all, Michael Dell is so cool, edgy and hip. If they had come preloaded with pan flute and accordion music, they would have sold more.

Feb 06, 06 - 01:41 pm Comment from: LordRobin

Does this hurt Creative in any way? I could've sworn I'd read that the DJ was just a rebranded Creative player.

Companies other than Apple should stop poluting the environment with their junk. Unless of course it can genuinley compete.
