That audience was most likely coached to go nuts, as often done with live-audience TV tapings. Or maybe they thought they were getting iPods instead!

There is only one legit Zune offering on eBay at this time. it is a pre-order auction with no bids.

There are three Zunes offered from Hong Kong with pick up delivery only. Sounds like a scam. Lots of Zune domain names for sale.

I would take the Zune and sell it on ebay. And then buy at least part of an ipod with the money. There are enough stupid people that would buy it, so I could have a ipod anyway.

So then what, they go home.... and do WHAT with them? There's no store, no software, no other users. Its as exciting as an empty hard drive.

How did they give away something that's not on available yet? Maybe they got a coupon for one. If they did get one at the studio, those Zunes will actually get a good price on eBay until they are available to the public. And just think, that studio may be the only time they will be in a crowded place with other Zunes within wireless range.

I kind of feel sorry for those people.. like an old person who thinks they got an "exceptional deal on a guaranteed investment."

I broke my Oprah avoidance to watch the red iPod Bono episode. I was really hoping everyone in the studio audience would get one. I didn't watch long enough to find out.

I also noticed that the model they showed in the clip is black.. not the trademark "Brown Zune" everyone has been talking about.

OK, I just watched this video and can't see an audience going berserk. Just people clapping and jumping a little. What's the deal MDN? This is just people responding to a free gift. I would have used a different word other than berserk. Maybe excited at the most. Berserk means "out of control".

Zune may do well, depends on how the masses who already have an iPod treat those who are getting Zunes. It's not a feature you are guaranteed to be able to use. It requires someone being nearby to you that:

A) Is also clueless enough to have a Zune
B) You know well enough to actually squirt something to or receive a squirt from

For all of their orgasmic hoopla, not one of those dumber-than-stumps women will ever do any squirting with their Zunes - either to or from.

And then, notice how the oriental chicks talk about the great "resolution". Uh, yeah, it has the identical resolution to the iPod, you ignorant whore. But since it's large it's not as sharp. She's equating dimensions with resolution! I can only think of one good use for her. She looks pretty good in those pants, and her face aint bad either. But anything taking a little thought and knowledge is something she should stay away from.

Well it's a different strategy, I'll give Microsoft that. I can't see giving free zunes to every single person in the world as being particularly profitable though.
