First Intel Arrandale processors due January 3rd; Bound for Apple MacBook Pro models?
Tuesday, December 01, 2009 - 05:59 PM EDT

"Fudzilla claims that Intel is planning on launching three Arrandale-based processors on January 3rd, 2010," Arnold Kim reports for Mac Rumors.

"These Arrandale processors are based on the advanced Nehalem architecture first introduced into desktop Macs earlier this year, and should represent a significant performance improvement over the Core 2 Duo processors that are currently found in Apple's MacBook Pros," Kim reports.

MacDailyNews Note: Intel's "Arrandale" line is marketed as mobile Intel Core i3, i5 and i7.

Kim reports, "While Fudzilla describes their TDP (thermal design power) of 35W as 'not so attractive,' it matches up with the current high-end processors used in the MacBook Pro."

I wonder if it's snappy?

Wait, so a quad-core 17" unibody MacBook Pro? Sweet Sassy Molassey, when can I place my order?

Dec 01, 09 - 07:14 pm Comment from: Hotinplaya

Snappy and cleaver

Dec 01, 09 - 07:15 pm Comment from: ecrabb

Never mind. 35W must certainly be a dual-core as opposed to a quad.

Dec 01, 09 - 07:30 pm Comment from: Monger

Snappy, cleaver, and rumored to be imminent.

That seems to happen a lot.

Dec 01, 09 - 07:32 pm Comment from: Julian

i have no idea how snappier it could be. Apple has already obliterated Windows7 with Mac OS X even if it's running on a slower hardware than a PC running W7!

Dec 01, 09 - 08:33 pm Comment from: Amorstus

Julian, it will be so snappy that it will guess what you will type even before you touch a key

Dec 01, 09 - 08:33 pm Comment from: jonahan
