Happy New Year!
Monday, December 31, 2007 - 10:00 AM EST

MacDailyNews wishes everyone a happy, healthy, and successful 2008!

We have just 15 days to go until the year's first major Apple highlight takes place. Apple CEO Steve Jobs is scheduled to deliver the opening keynote address for Macworld Conference & Expo in San Francisco on Tuesday, January 15, 2008 at 9am PT. Macworld Expo & Conference will be held at San Francisco's Moscone Convention Center January 14-18, 2007.

Happy New Year to Most of You!

(And Fleas on your Heuvos.)

Dec 31, 07 - 10:08 am Comment from: Skinny Mac

And a happy new year to you, too.

I predict a local peak of happiness around January 15th.

Dec 31, 07 - 10:09 am Comment from: Ampar

Oops. Make that "¡Feliz año nuevo!"

That's better.

Dec 31, 07 - 10:19 am Comment from: Treehouse

and a Happy New Year to MacDailyNews.com

What a site.

Dec 31, 07 - 10:22 am Comment from: macrick

happy new year to TowerTone and Chrissyone and all of the other regulars who contribute to the humor on this site, and yes that includes Zune Tang!

Dec 31, 07 - 10:23 am Comment from: Joseph

We must really hate our lives if every year we are so anxious to get rid of it (the current year) and start a new one, as if that will solve all our problems.

Dec 31, 07 - 10:24 am Comment from: Thorin

Happy New Year guys.

Dec 31, 07 - 10:25 am Comment from: Cubert

The real Christmas happens on January 15th!

Dec 31, 07 - 10:27 am Comment from: smackman

From all of us at the PC/MAC SMACKDOWN, Happy New Year MDN!

Dec 31, 07 - 10:36 am Comment from: iWill

MacDailyNews is my one-stop-shop for all Mac related news. (At least a good starting point before triangulating information.) Thanks so much for your diligent and entertaining efforts through out 2007.

If 2008 is even half as eventful as 2007, it should be another banner year for Apple.

Very Happy New Year to all MacHeads, past, present AND future!

Dec 31, 07 - 10:49 am Comment from: Jake

I hope in the new year, MDN takes a new direction and decides to end its condescending look at everything non-Apple. I also hope that the Mac community becomes a little friendlier or we somehow manage to keep the dipshits that reflect badly on the community out. And let's all support Ron Paul. Happy new year to everyone.

Dec 31, 07 - 11:08 am Comment from: Mark Armstrong

2008 is the year I intend to get a Mac and finally make the switch. I've been champing at the bit through all of this past year to do it. First I was waiting for Adobe CS3 to come out, then Leopard, then the Modbook.

Lately, while looking through the requirements of CS3 and of Cintiqs, I'm leaning towards a Mac Pro rather than the Modbook.

Sure would like to see the Mac Pros refreshed come January 15th. Oh--and OS X 10.5.2 would be good also.

Dec 31, 07 - 11:17 am Comment from: Ampar

"2008 is the year I intend to get a Mac and finally make the switch."

Congratulations! Excellent decision.

And yes, 10.5.2 should have some welcome glitch fixes.

Dec 31, 07 - 11:40 am Comment from: MacSheikh

Have a great 2008 everyone! You too Zune Tang! grin

Dec 31, 07 - 11:41 am Comment from: Beryllium

"10.5.2 should have some welcome glitch fixes"

I sure hope so. Leopard on my iMac Core Duo has the following ills:

- iChat does not work, at all.
- Mac Help opens a blank window, then crashes.
- PubSubAgent keeps asking for connection permission even though I click Always Allow.
- Screen Sharing is totally flaky. It connected once for a few minutes then refused to reconnect or start a new connection.

Dec 31, 07 - 11:41 am Comment from: LorD1776

I had finally decided last month to get a Mac Pro, but waited when rumors said they would upgrade the processors this month. Well, they didn't, and I spent a fortune on my wife for Christmas and now don't have the money. Oh well, she's worth it. Maybe next year.

A Happy New Year to MDN and all the wisecracking punsters, liberals, conservatives, believers, atheists, straights, gays and even the deluded rap-is-music crowd (just kidding - we all know it is, right?).

May 2008 bring us another year chock-full of whining, crying, screaming, bitching, moaning, groaning, cussing, fussing, fighting and feuding. You know, what we usually do. Don't you just love it?

Dec 31, 07 - 11:47 am Comment from: Ampar

Re: Making the Switch

It's another good reason to call 2008 a leap year.

Dec 31, 07 - 11:59 am Comment from: Journo

Jake,

Your post is bullshit. You must be very new here. MDN is simply not condescending to everything non-Apple. Here's just one example:

P.S. Happy New Year to everyone, even Jake!

Dec 31, 07 - 12:00 pm Comment from: Lurker_PC

Hope everyone has a safe and Happy New Year! Thanks for making Apple news so much fun and interesting to read.

Peace.

Dec 31, 07 - 12:30 pm Comment from: Micro Me

A Happy New Year to MDN, and its posters. May we have another great year of thread hijacking, provocative comments, fire lighting, and general chaos.

Dec 31, 07 - 12:31 pm Comment from: El Guapo

@macrick

"happy new year to TowerTone and Chrissyone and all of the other regulars who contribute to the humor on this site, and yes that includes Zune Tang!"

Dec 31, 07 - 01:34 pm Comment from: ChrissyOne

@ LorD1776

We've decided to forgo the party madness all together and spend a quiet evening with friends and a movie tonight. We will be enjoying the hi-def presentation of A Clockwork Orange (a true holiday classic).

Careful out there, party animals. Stay safe, drive sober, know your limits and mind your stash.

Dec 31, 07 - 01:35 pm Comment from: G Spank

Great post, Lord1776. Cheers!

Dec 31, 07 - 02:16 pm Comment from: LorD1776

ChrissyOne,

"A Clockwork Orange (a true holiday classic)."

Yeah, polls show it has replaced 'It's A Wonderful Life'.
Will you wear your mask while you watch?

G Spank,

Cheers to you too.

Apple bought us a lot of nice things this year - many of them Apple products...hey wait, is that what SJ had planned all along?
