Happy New Year!
Wednesday, December 31, 2008 - 08:27 AM EST

MacDailyNews wishes everyone a happy, healthy, and successful 2009!

We have under a week to go until the year's first major Apple highlight takes place. Apple's senior vice president of worldwide product marketing, Phil Schiller, is scheduled to deliver the opening keynote address for Macworld Conference & Expo in San Francisco on Tuesday, January 6, 2009, at 9am PST. This is the last Macworld Expo that Apple will attend. Macworld Expo & Conference will be held at San Francisco's Moscone Convention Center January 5-9, 2009.

Hi, all and Happy New Year.

It's 01:20 AM here in Japan, January 1st, 2009, and by my calculations everybody any further west of me than Beijing should still be in 2008. But according to my iPod Touch's "World Clock" it's 22:05 PM January 1st in Katmandu, 21:50 PM January 1st in New Delhi, 17:20 PM January 1st in Paris, 16:20 PM January 1st in London, 11:20 AM January 1st in Washington DC, 08:20 AM January 1st in Los Angeles, 06:20 AM January 1st in Honolulu, 05:20 AM TODAY in Wellington, and 03:20 AM TODAY in Canberra.

Wellington and Canberra are to our east and on our side of the IDL, but all those other places should be listed as YESTERDAY, Dec 31st 2008.

Whoopsie! Some programmer got the directions backwards!

We are now just weeks from surviving our first, and hopefully only, appointed president. That makes 2009 something to cheer about.

Let me guess, you support the courts reversing the Prop 8 vote in CA.

And also let me guess, "that's different".

Anyway, the faces may change but the job is the same. It destroys whoever holds it.
We all had better hope Obama's ready for the gauntlet. He's gonna age 20 years in the next four.

Happy New Year everyone!!!

According to my sources we should be seeing a larger iPod Touch with a huge 9 inch screen and larger capacity.

Now this device rightfully have a glossy screen, because while in use it can be easily tilted by the hand to reduce reflections, much like one does with a glossy magazine.

Then the MacBook Pro's can go back to being matte screen optional for us "professionals" who take our laptops all over and can't adjust for the enviroment.

Come on Steve, read the online polls will you? Get matte LCD screens back into our hands!!
