Iliad’s ‘Free’ offers unlimited calling on Apple iPhone in France

French Internet provider Iliad has announced that subscribers to its "Free" brand can use unlocked Apple iPhones to make unlimited calls to French fixed lines.

"A spokeswoman for Iliad [said] that the service would initially be available only to Free customers, but would soon become available to all owners of an unlocked iPhone handset," Jethro Mullen reports for Dow Jones Newswires.

"France Telecom's Orange brand has the exclusive rights to market the iPhone in France, but under French law it also has to sell the iPhone without a contract not locked to its own network," Mullen reports.
