So if American Express comes through with my $200 credit under the claim they filed for me, looks like the Apple Store credit makes $300 back (x 3 iPhones = $900)!!!

And I don't feel bad in the least about double dipping.

Just got mine in less than a minute. Although I was happy without it...

once again, old news..this was posted earlier elsewhere..come on MDN, you gotta get on the ball!

FYI, I got my $100 too, and will be applying it to another iPhone for the wife!

Wasn't expecting or necessarily feeling that this was owed to me. I will take it though. It took a little over a minute start to finish. Now that is how you do things.

iLife Family Pack? .Mac?
or save for Leopard?
Maybe buy the wife one of those 4GB iphones for $199 ($299 - store credit).

I too was happy without it. It was worth 500$ to me when i bought it. I'll happily take 100$ though.

In typical Apple fashion, this rebate process was slick and well designed.

I am going to buy a new IMac in about an hour. With this credit and my student discount I think I will upgrade to the 24".

Took less than 30 seconds...cool...and yes, was happy without it and the iPhone keeps on rockin.

Forgive for appearing stupid, but where exactly do I go on the Apple webpage to enter this info? Where do I "simply enter ..." and where do I "Enter your access code ..."?

"Step 1: Identify your iPhone: To confirm eligibility, simply enter your phone number and iPhone serial number (iPhone Settings>General>About) in the fields provided.

Step 2: Enter your access code: You will receive an SMS text message on your iPhone containing the access code to redeem your $100 credit. Enter your phone number and your access code in the fields provided to generate an electronic store credit."

I figured it out. Nevermind! Got my rebate in 1 minute or less.

Now, if you can, consider donating the Apple Store Credit you receive to a needy school, pre-school, nursing home or other similar entity that could use new Apple hardware or software.

According to Apple's FAQ, you may not be eligible (see #3 below). Although, how will Apple know you already got a rebate?

"Not Eligible for Store Credit
(1) iPhones purchased from August 22, 2007 through September 4, 2007 since they qualify for price protection.
(2) iPhones that have been returned to either AT&T;or Apple.
(3) iPhones for which a store credit, rebate, or other consideration has already been issued.
(4) iPhones provided by Apple to its employees for personal or departmental use.
(5) iPhones provided by Apple for publicity or product reviews.
(6) iPhones rented to Customers while their iPhone is being repaired."

Again Apple has made a serious mistake entering a market they know nothing about.

Discounting the 4GB, offering rebates which are not really rebates but loss leaders to get you to buy more.

On the other hand, the Zune is doing marvelously without having to enter the cell phone market.

The brown Zune is my favorite as it looks so much like a piece of human excrement that nobody would want to sell or rob me of it.

All my music is safe on the Zune, unlike on iPods which all the music is stolen.

Didn't work because I used a new number for the first few days and then ported my Verizon number over. Now I have to send an e-mail to Apple and wait.

I did the same as you, new number first week (purchased iPhone August 21) then ported my number from Sprint to ATT.

I entered my current, updated iPhone number (my original Sprint number) wondering if the number change was gonna foul up everything since the phone was registered with the interim temporary phone number.

No problemo. None. Literally 20 seconds for Apple to process the info once entered.

for me it took less than a minute. then i got in my car, drove to the apple store, and used it to buy another iPhone for my wife =) now we are one happy iPhone family

Nothing better then free $$$, I'd agree with a previous comment and I wasn't expecting anything from Apple. Way to get this rebate in place so quickly IT department! Now for the hard part... what to buy?
