Unlocking vs. jailbreaking again? One lets you put on your own Apps (not carried by the iTunes Applications store) and the other lets you use any carrier with your iPhone. Right?

unless they have fixed since yesterday, this only jail breaks 3G iPhones

Update 1: Just to clear up some confusion over what this actually does: yes, it jailbreaks and unlocks older iPhones, and jailbreaks iPhone 3Gs and iPod Touches. We only support the 2.0 firmwares.

I upgraded before they issued 2.0.1...

This works fantastically! All we need now are the developers of the 1.1.4 applications on Installer and Cydia to update their programs. They will get there, albeit slowly.

I also upgraded my old iPhone (BL 4.3) yesterday and here is what I found:
1.-Once you have created the Custom firmaware, you can deply it to other iphones with out rebuilding the firmware or installing the Tool.

2.-In "simple mode" some times does not detect the firmware or the BL files, swap to "Expert mode" and it let you browse for the file.

3.- Old "Installer.app" applications won't work on the new firmware, backup all the applications you have and also make a back up of the iPhone using iTunes (its back ups the call history, messages, contacts and all that).

Do you live under a rock? The jailbreak upgrades have been around since the iPhone was released. Stop being lazy; read up for yourself!

Perhaps I should explain a little. How is installing software that continues to render certain advertised features of an iPhone (visual voice mail, automatic updates) unusable, an upgrade? It may be a revision of the old software that allows it to be installed on a new iPhone, but an upgrade it is not.
