Riveting. Complex. Intriguing. Great character development. Loved the surprise ending!

OK, so here at MDN we have been told what the music is behind the ads "I'm a Mac ... andI'm a PC" and iPhone ads.

Anyone know what music is behind this?

Aug 27, 07 - 12:24 pm Comment from: Ray

I cannot wait until Spring 2007 when Leopard will be ready. Apple never has Microsft type delays, ever.

Just my $0.02

Aug 27, 07 - 12:24 pm Comment from: Cubert

Probably the quality of the video but it looks like crap compared to the others (10.4, 10.3, 10.2, and 10.0/.1). It looks like some bad first-person version of Galaga. However, if you look at the movies for the previous OS X versions, they all have something to do with a major feature in the OS - 10.0/.1 is Aqua; 10.2 is Aqua again; 10.3 I can't figure out; 10.4 was spotlight; now, it's Time Machine.

Aug 27, 07 - 12:26 pm Comment from: NavyTim

I believe it was the original theme music to the MS BSOD, but the audio never worked once it crashed.

Aug 27, 07 - 12:30 pm Comment from: ken1w

It looks good, very scifi. Apple is not going to devote a huge amount of time to something that lasts 20 seconds and the user sees once.

Aug 27, 07 - 12:34 pm Comment from: twilightmoon@mac.com

lol.. pretty damn cool for a movie most users will only see 1x.

Aug 27, 07 - 12:41 pm Comment from: RS

Does Leopard has HDTV recording capability ?

Aug 27, 07 - 12:42 pm Comment from: ziggyonice

Nice! I was hoping the U.S.S. Enterprise would perform a fly-by.

Aug 27, 07 - 12:56 pm Comment from: macula

The stars seem still far, far away.

Aug 27, 07 - 01:07 pm Comment from: No Squirt For You

It was actually produced by Dr. Zefram Cochrane thirty years ago.

Aug 27, 07 - 01:13 pm Comment from: Ray's Sphincter

I can crush granite.

Aug 27, 07 - 01:28 pm Comment from: Kit-N

Well, if I did it, I'd say "cool!"

But since I don't do that kind of visual work, and I'm assuming a professional did...well,

Ho-hum.

Aug 27, 07 - 01:28 pm Comment from: CheekyGit

@ Ray's Sphincter

Crush a couple of lumps of coal so you can make some diamonds.

Aug 27, 07 - 01:30 pm Comment from: montex

I can't wait to test that, Ray. I'm hard as a rock!

Aug 27, 07 - 01:30 pm Comment from: ndelc

I loved it. It was much better than Cats. I'm going to see it again and again.

Aug 27, 07 - 01:37 pm Comment from: MrMcLargeHuge

@Ray

Do some homework. Apple has had a 4-5 month delay. A "Microsoft type delay" would be like Vista, where the operating system was delayed 2-3 YEARS.

Aug 27, 07 - 01:42 pm Comment from: Twisted Intro Freak

It feels much snappier than the last intro movie.

Aug 27, 07 - 01:56 pm Comment from: almux

My first feeling was: oh! this is a fake! Not good enough for Apple...
Now, if it's the real intro: it's only used once... so it might be just good enough... Yet i'd be a little disapointed if this would be it...

Aug 27, 07 - 02:06 pm Comment from: shl

Damn, as a designer i must say this is some of the most cheesy crap i have seen! Try again Apple...

Aug 27, 07 - 02:10 pm Comment from: Roberto

That's the Orion Nebula (M42) by the way, so it is astronomical rather than sci-fi.

Aug 27, 07 - 02:31 pm Comment from: god deluded

jesus its naff for pete's sake! a good amateur effort but lacks the finesse of something pro, also they surely won't be using the same music?

Sorry i am not convinced this is the real (Bones) McCoy.

Aug 27, 07 - 02:55 pm Comment from: dabby

Flying though space? Why not just make the text go off into a vanishing point center screen? then pan down to the surface of "Tatooine" or "Hoth" and have Jar Jar welcome you to Mac OS X, then get eaten by a leaopard. Looks like a tacky Windows or linux presentation. If this is real, Apple art directors are slipping. And no new Music? I think its fake.

Aug 27, 07 - 03:27 pm Comment from: Chris

Hopefully this kind of polish is indicative of the overall refinements in the OS.

Aug 27, 07 - 03:34 pm Comment from: Mr. Peabody

Check out the Leopard Domination movie also available in the playlist at the bottom of the screen.

Aug 27, 07 - 04:06 pm Comment from: The Real Fake Fake Steve Jobs
