Hambi writes, “I lost my very best friend. Tera Jean Patricks.”
“Saturday afternoon, I received a phone call from her parents. Tera was staying at their home near Los Angeles. She passed away early Saturday morning following a long bout with cancer,” Hambi writes.
Hambi writes, “Though severely ill for the past few years, even while dying Tera, somehow managed to teach me more about living than I could have imagined possible… Tera wished the best for everyone, especially those less fortunate. We’ll miss her. Remember, ‘Nothing improves without change.’ Tera told me to remember it. I won’t forget.”

Every time we reread this article – hoping we read it wrong the time before – we want to cry. We knew Tera only electronically, but she left a lasting impression. Tera will be missed.

Truly a piece of news that puts the petty “AMD vs. Intel”, “Microsoft sucks!” and other trivia into perspective.
First off: condolences to the family, 46 is no age to die nowadays and it must be particularly hard for her parents who now have to do the thing that must be hardest for any mother or father.
Can I suggest that anyone who wants to pass a smart-ass remark here find some other outlet for their “thoughts”.
I learned some important things about Macs from her site. And I liked her style. I’ll miss her.
She’ll be missed by not only her friends but also by all in the personal computing community. With her great ability to constructively argue her points she made friends and foes alike raise the bar. One of the best tributes to her we can do is to never lower it.
I too was “touched by Tera” – received a few e-mails from her after posting on Mac360. She had a great spirit, and I was impressed that with everything she had going on she had the time to correspond with me. We lose the good ones too soon. We miss you Tera.

That’s a tough one. I’m not a religious person, never was, so I’ll just say I hope that her last days were without pain and spent in peace with her loved ones, and that her family and friends will be able to cope.
We shall surely miss her contributions.
Tera always provided a refreshing voice in this cacophany of postings whenever there was a hot topic to discuss. She (and her comments) will be greatly missed.

An incredible woman…an incredible writer…so prolific, full of energy and spirit, even while very ill. I knew her only electronically, but her writing and fun-spirited defense of the Mac platform entertained me, enlightened me, made me feel good. That was her special gift…her ability to connect with her readers, mostly strangers essentially, and give them knowledge with a smile. She was one of the rare bloggers who would also take the time to reply to those who commented on her writing.
I encourage everyone to visit her Mac360/TeraTalks site as she has written some beautiful vignettes on life and mortality. She lives on in the wisdom and spirit of her words.
I will miss you, Ms. Tera Patricks…very, very much.

I was lead to Mac360 through Tera’s extraordinarily concise and well thought out posts here at MDN. Through my readings there I learned of her illness and her fight. Reality set in when I learned that silver wig she has on for the web site picture was done due to ‘hair issues’ related to the cancer. Still you always think that the worst will never happen and people will pull through. Goes to show how wrong you can be. Go tell someone you love how you feel today. Rest in peace Tera.

Tera was totally cool. I had no idea she was battling cancer, and I’m sure most people didn’t know either.

She did a great job with Mac360.com, which catered to beginners as well as prosumers. Mac360 will go on, and I hope she died happily, knowing that she left behind a little legacy.
