MacBlogz.com recently launched to offer readers a base from which to efficiently find the latest, up-to-the-minute Apple- and tech-related headlines.
The MacBlogz Team tells us that the concept for MacBlogz arose roughly 3 months ago during a routine workday at Think Brilliant Media Studios. They were tired of opening up 8 or 10 new browser windows at a time to get up to date with the latest news, and no RSS feeders really do their job correctly. So, they decided to develop their own solution. After a few weeks of planning and organization, development began
For the initial launch version, MacBlogz used WordPress as the back-end CMS and blogging platform. Six weeks later, The MacBlogz Team are pleased to unveil MacBlogz.com to share with the community.
MacBlogz is here.
MacDailyNews Take: As we wish all new Apple-related sites: Good luck, MacBlogz Team!
Did they HAVE to end it with a “z”? Otherwise, nice job.
competition for MacDailyNews?
anyways, on macblogz they show two stories from each site… how do we see the other stories from each site? doesn’t seem to be any active links to the mac sites. or am i missing something here?
At least their site’s faster then MDN’s.
They had trouble with RSS feeds?
My RSS in Safari are down to a fine art; one single ‘’ character on the toolbar brings up the RSS feeds from 15 Mac related sites, newest first. Sublime when technology just works for you.
Thanks Apple.
“At least their site’s faster then MDN’s.”
That’s not too difficult.
SB ‘than’ not ‘then’. Graduate??
“Graduate??”
Mr. McGuire: I want to say one word to you. Just one word.
Benjamin: Yes, sir.
Mr. McGuire: Are you listening?
Benjamin: Yes, I am.
Mr. McGuire: Plastics.
Benjamin: Just how do you mean that, sir?
“Keeping tabs on the Rumor Mill”? And there, on the opening screen, is MDN?
OK, speed and snarkiness aside, MDN has done a pretty good job of reporting mostly NEWS, and marking the Rumors for what they are. Sure, they have failed to create a separate-and-unequal ghetto for hit-trolling “analysts”, but none of us are perfect. Besides, the analysts CLAIM they are reporting “news”, right? THEY are the liars.
I’ve added the bookmark, the site is well designed and makes surfing the rumors easier. But, most are just that – rumors. Interesting, perhaps, suggestive, perhaps, but often wild figments of someone’s imagination.
no RSS feeders really do their job correctly
Hmmm. I wonder who they had in mind?
Actually Klapka- After trolling the site, I realized you in fact can access each individual site via Macblogz.com. Therefore it isn’t at all in competition with sites such as this (macdailynews.com) as it will result in bringing and sharing traffic from other site’s enthusiasts.
I will for sure give this new site the shot is deserves…in hopes of avoiding long loading times and multiple windows to get the news I crave.
at least it will replace Dead MacNewz.com which was the best digest type news headline sucker. better than Macsurfer or others.
good luck.
Seems like MDN imitations are springing up like, well, iPhone imitations….
One the bright side, maybe some folks will move along to these sites and the server load will get spread out a bit.
I give them six months.
6 months? McFly, is that what you said about MySpace, Engadget and the iPhone too? I simply wish them luck. This product was clearly made for “the people” by “the people” of the Mac community.
By the time I heard about MySpace, Engadget, and iPhone they were already a hit. Made by the people — was there a vote that I missed?
Hardly a unique site here MDN, for example http://news.worldofapple.com/feedme has been around for 3+ years doing the same job.
Oh and don’t forget the king – http://www.appleenthusiast.com
To each their own…But I find the way in which macblogz is designed is innovative, relevent, and easy to navigate.
Logo of MacBlogz. A bad mix of iWeb shadows and bitten apple icon. Not so smart. Not so good. Not terrible, but far from excellent… Like the design of the website, though. Visually appealing and colorful. Overall, an OK start.
The King? Apple Enthusiast? Nah. Not even close. Your “King” is really a minor kingdom. The One True King is MACSURFER.
I like Apple Enthusiast – an excellent site. But MacSurfer has no peers.
That site is pretty cool… I bet MDN is using it.
There is no match out there for MDN’s takes. That’s primarily why I chose to make this my normal site for Mac news.
I’ve got too much to read already. Not expanding into this one too.
I think they’re on to a great start. Easy to navigate site—packed full with info!
You go guys!!
