Jun 07, 09 - 12:52 pm Comment from: Molly

I want a 15" anti glare MacBook Pro.

In pink, but I'll take silver. smile

Jun 07, 09 - 01:18 pm Comment from: Pete

I'm with you on that Molly, but in blue!!!

Bring it on Apple!

Jun 07, 09 - 01:40 pm Comment from: Sixvodkas

I want a glossy 17" MacBook Pro.
(Even when given a choice, I choose glossy over matte)

Jun 07, 09 - 01:43 pm Comment from: ron

Molly. Will the battery life be OK for you?

Jun 07, 09 - 02:05 pm Comment from: MasterMatte

MATTE!!

Choice is good!

Eyestrain and headaches from monitor reflections is so old, like green CRTs, command line, dot matrix and 5 1/4 inch floppies.

Join the revolt!

MBP in satin black would be nice.

Jun 07, 09 - 03:15 pm Comment from: max walker

I want an iTouch on steroids

Jun 07, 09 - 03:29 pm Comment from: Actually Quad Core

It's actually as long as the time it took for you to come up with that "people in glass houses" quip directed at him. Oh so clever.

Jun 07, 09 - 03:34 pm Comment from: January 24, 1984

I dreamt about an iTouch on steroids last night. In the unreality that is dreaming, it shrank and grew depending on the content. One second, a pocket toy, the next a full size video viewer.

And featherweight.

Jun 07, 09 - 04:26 pm Comment from: jarrettdailynews

A new rumor has it that Phil's keynote speech is just shy of 70 minutes in practice. What about the other 20 minutes or so? Could Steve be filing that other 20 minutes?

I hate getting emails from co workers who are actually on hand for WWDC. This happens to me every year. Maybe I should just make the trip one year that way I can give you some "real" information. I want to believe my co workers, but maybe their watches are broken.

Jun 07, 09 - 05:15 pm Comment from: HotinPlaya

they should stream live for ATV owners

Jun 07, 09 - 05:35 pm Comment from: Jubei

Going to be a great WWDC.

Jun 07, 09 - 07:03 pm Comment from: Mark S.

I would like Mac OS 10.6 and iPhone 3. zero as soon as possible.

Jun 07, 09 - 08:31 pm Comment from: Davis Machead

I think the ONLY prediction that is guaranteed to be true is that regardless of what Apple announces tomorrow, stock analysts will express their disappointment that no new iPods were announced (hey guys, this is a DEVELOPERS convention!) and as a result, the price of Apple stock will go down. *sigh*

Jun 07, 09 - 11:39 pm Comment from: Let it Snow

Best thing that could happen for developers - the audience at WWDC, is, after all, a bunch of computer coders - is how terrific Snow Leopard is going to be. Exceeding previous expectations is what we and AAPL need.

Expectations of some phone update seems to have folks all atwitter, but the Mac and its OS is where the future lies - think about it, do we need a company that makes really neat phones or do we need one that makes really neat phones as a sideline to the serious business of advancing market share by continuing to make superior computers and a superior OS to run them?

My fear is that the government controlled media is going to tout the new Windows OS as the greatest thing ever (anyone see David Pogue's fawning over it) and toss aside Snow as a 'tweak' or somesuch thereby suggesting that Apple sans Steve is failing to keep up.

Jun 08, 09 - 06:31 am Comment from: Bruno

5.5 hours left. Cmonnnnnnn... raspberry.
But, definitely, it is going to be awesome. Can't wait to see what software updates are gonna be available for my Unibody Macbook and iPhone 3G in the near future!

Jun 08, 09 - 06:33 am Comment from: Nerd Beautiful

Of the coverage choices above, which do y'all think is best?

Jun 08, 09 - 06:39 am Comment from: Random AAPL investor

"I think the ONLY prediction that is guaranteed to be true is that regardless of what Apple announces tomorrow, stock analysts will express their disappointment that no new iPods were announced (hey guys, this is a DEVELOPERS convention!) and as a result, the price of Apple stock will go down. *sigh*"

I don't know why people continue to say stuff like this. IT's just not true, just like the myth that the stock ALWAY falls right after earnings are announced, which is also not true.

One thing you can count on is people only looking at what happens the 24 hours after Apple makes an announcement and declaring some sort of negative force is upon AAPL instead of the reality which is the stock generally is on a steady climb.

Stop taking the ADD approach with stocks.

Jun 08, 09 - 06:41 am Comment from: random AAPL investor

"My fear is that the government controlled media is going to tout ..."

Got tinfoil?

Seriously the government controlled media? Listen to me now....

The media has ONE goal. To keep you watching. And if being controversial, over the top, propagandistic, outrageous or whatever other adjective you want to insert here keeps you doing just that, then they succeed.

Jun 08, 09 - 09:49 am Comment from: SB Surfer

@Nerd B

In my experience MDN is so popular I don't get all the updates. It usually times out on me 20 minutes in. GIzmodo does a decent job and is very fast with the updates. But the best live coverage is MacWorld. They may not be as fast as others, and not have all the pretty pictures that Giz has (nor the snide comments), but the words they write are actual complete sentences that accurately tell the story that needs telling.

2 hours to go.

Jun 08, 09 - 09:54 am Comment from: kalel666

I would like to see the whole presentation go as planned, and then have Tim Cook pull a "one more thing" and have the Steve walk out.

Jun 08, 09 - 10:20 am Comment from: Mac Daddy

Being that it's a developer's conference, I expect to hear plenty about Snow Leopard and OSX iPhone. Related to the iPhone's software, I wouldn't be surprised to see a new model announced. Perhaps with availability on 30 June.

I wouldn't hold my breath for any other product announcements (such as MBPs with matte screens and such like), but you never know.

Jun 08, 09 - 11:03 am Comment from: occams razor

UK Apple store is down!!!! Something new this way comes???

Jun 08, 09 - 11:33 am Comment from: MadMacs

How about a graphics card upgrade for the early Mac Pro? The NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT Graphics Upgrade Kit for Mac Pro (MB137Z/A) is not available from Powermax or NVIDIA, and appear in some supply houses (maybe leftover stock?). Not truly a hardware announcement, but certainly improves the investment...

Jun 08, 09 - 11:39 am Comment from: Nerd Beautiful

Thanks SB!

Jun 08, 09 - 12:01 pm Comment from: Lokiz

The Apple Store is closed for updates, so something is coming.

Jun 08, 09 - 12:15 pm Comment from: Crabs

Whoa! No one called new Mac hardware, especially not across the laptop line. Or moving the 13" unibody to the Pro line. Apple's just full of surprises!

Not sure how I feel about ditching the ExpressCard in the 15", but oh well…

Jun 08, 09 - 12:24 pm Comment from: spaceman

is the "core duo" spec on 13" macbook pro a typo too? shouldn't it be core 2 duo?

Jun 08, 09 - 12:24 pm Comment from: nytes

45% faster to install Mac OSX!

Wait. Who installs OSX more than once?

Jun 08, 09 - 12:36 pm Comment from: TheMacAdvocate

@Matte:

Eyestrain and headaches?

Source it or GTFO.

Jun 08, 09 - 12:36 pm Comment from: Gabriel

"Apple press release states: Snow Leopard will be available in September for US$29"

Um, typo? wink

Jun 08, 09 - 12:41 pm Comment from: Gabriel

Hmm, well they boldfaced it, so maybe it's not a typo after all...???

Love the snarky MDN commentary in the coverage, btw (though you probably have to be a regular MDN reader to parse the editorializing from the coverage).

Jun 08, 09 - 12:43 pm Comment from: NoSpamMan

yeah, I was wondering about the $29 thing too. That would be and AWESOME upgrade price for current owners of Leopard.

Really amazing upgrades and YEA for FIREWIRE!!! Woo-hooo! And the SD card slot?!!! Has Apple been reading CNET reviews or something?...

Jun 08, 09 - 12:44 pm Comment from: frankmv

Hmmm...Snow Leopard upgrade for $29 US...a definite no-brainer. Can't wait...

Jun 08, 09 - 12:47 pm Comment from: NeilDeWheel

$29! That's only £21 (inc. VAT) in the UK, wow, what a bargain. I bet loads of people will upgrade for that price, I know I will.

How much to upgrade from Vista to Vista service pack 3, er I mean, Windows 7?

Well done Apple!

Jun 08, 09 - 12:49 pm Comment from: Gabriel

Well dang, Snow Leopard *is* a $29 upgrade for current Leopard users!

Which makes Apple's upgrade look pretty dang awesome, compared to Microsoft's "pay higher than full price to upgrade Vista" approach...

Jun 08, 09 - 01:03 pm Comment from: Wingsy

Oh NO! Their slides showing the new iPhone... the speaker is NOT near the top edge of the phone... which means... no front-facing camera?????

Jun 08, 09 - 01:04 pm Comment from: jamie

TETHERING is a deal-maker or me! About time too. Yippeee

Jun 08, 09 - 01:08 pm Comment from: MacMorsel

Where are you watching the keynote at Wingsy???

Jun 08, 09 - 01:11 pm Comment from: Gabriel

Autofill? Great, now all 40 million iPhone/iPod touch users can get phished while browsing. Why don't browser makers prompt you before letting you autofill info to potentially a phishing site?

Jun 08, 09 - 01:11 pm Comment from: Crabs

Does anyone else smell ATT losing their US exclusive once the contract's up? If I were Apple, I'd be pretty pissed at them right now. Oh, you can't handle MMS until later in the summer? Ok, I guess we can deal with that. What's that? You also can't handle tethering?! But that's a huge new feature for OS 3.0! How are we supposed to not have tethering in our largest market?!

Jun 08, 09 - 01:22 pm Comment from: Wingsy

MacMorsel: Not "watching it", but Engadget's coverage has lotsa pics.

Jun 08, 09 - 01:49 pm Comment from: Gabriel

Ahh, the iPhone 3GS... somehow the name makes me nostalgic for our family's old Apple IIGS. wink

Jun 08, 09 - 02:01 pm Comment from: ken1w

This is quite a marathon keynote.

Jun 08, 09 - 02:01 pm Comment from: SickOfThis
