There will be no software update to bring the new features to previous-gen Apple TVs (no Netflix streaming, for example). Previous-gen Apple TVs will continue to work as they do now. can anyone comment on the ability of the old Apple TV as a streaming device for webstreams? i know it can be hacked but is it compatible with the plugins for Vshare and Veetle and the rest of the current tech used to stream sports. also, is it fully compatible with Hulu? what about .avi videos?
i currently am using an old powerbook to stream to my TV and would gladly buy an Apple TV if it could handle all the same stuff but maybe i should be looking at an old mini instead.
Anybody know if the new ATV streams from the “movies” folder, or do I have to go through iTunes?
