In addition, they get the One to One membership. For the additional costs, and that includes taxes, the extra support/training is invaluable.

What is the difference in buying a Mac from Apple or any other online retailer? Warranty is all from Apple, right?

Right. But the One to One is only available via purchases from the Apple Store's, direct or on-line.

their Better Business Bureau rating is " B- " and "advise careful evaluation of the company's technical assistance, servicing, refund and exchange policies prior to ordering products"

in fairness to macmall, all of my several issues with rebates were resolved quickly once i informed them i was going to contact the BBB or after they were contacted by the BBB on my behalf.

nonetheless, it was still a lot unneccessary aggraviation. i still make purchsaes from them that don't involve rebates.

Very satisfied with MacMall and never had any issue with rebates (10+) in all the times I've purchased.

leftofkarlmarx, you sound like a typical liberal whiner / complainer with the usual perpetual "victim" mentality. If you're always looking to create issues, you're more likely to encounter them. Based on your post, you're probably a real asshole on the phone, too.

this doesn't really pass the smell test. DOA? Did you somehow pay cash over the Internet? Never heard of credit card dispute- stopping payment? Easy to do.

I doubt it.

Have had my 3G since day one. Got a case with protector. It made it bulkier. It looked ugly. Particularly the covering acetate protector on the front. Threw it out a couple of weeks later and never looked back.

Although the back has wear, the front is not different than the day I got it.

As I said, I recommend not to get a cover. Everybody that has taken my advice is happy they listened. Easier to use. And spending 10-20% of the iPhone so it will look better when you put it on eBay is ludicrous.

In fact, I don't see any reason to sell it. I'll pass it down to the kids.

I've always found MacMall to be a good place to shop and have been happy with the many items I've purchased from them.
The only caution I have with MacMall (or others) is to be aware that great sale price you see may be on the older model.
Apple often seems to use places like MacMall to clear out their older models.

I'm so glad you asked. I bought a MacBook Air from Macmall in October '09. When it arrived, it would not boot up. It was completely dead. So I plugged it in and it booted and I just figured it had lost it's charge. The next day, I took it to a coffee shop and it was dead again. After a full day of charging and no boot I called Macmall and asked for an exchange. They told me that they do not accept returns or exchanges on any laptops. Period.

I took it to a local Apple Store and they replaced the battery. It works fine (I'm typing on it now). But I am not impressed with Macmall's customer service. If I had known about their laptop return policy I would not have purchased from them. Caveat emptor.
