“Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer is set to take to the stage [tonight at 6:30pm PST] for the opening keynote at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas,” Tom Warren reports for WinRumors.
“Ballmer will detail a number of new announcements related to Windows Phone, Xbox and Windows,” Warren reports. “The main announcement will be related to Windows running on ARM chips. According to sources familiar with Microsoft’s plans, the software giant is planning to show off a function of Windows 8 for the first time.”
Warren reports, “Ballmer will show off limited Windows 8 functionality, believed to be related to Microsoft’s Slate plans, and a full Windows 8 unveil will come later at PDC 2011… Microsoft will not show off the new dual UI of Windows 8.”

You can only tease people with something they WANT!
I’m on the edge of my seat!!
@MacinScott – agreed!
With something that they want but it also has to be fully functioning.
Ass monkey on the move again
Dual user interface, hmm what’s that dumb and dumber?
“Ballmer will show off limited Windows 8 functionality”

Not necessarily.. you can hang a turd on a stick and tease people with it.

Or is it 3 now?
If you’re pretending to be Paul Thurrott from “SuperSite for Windows” (puke) then there’s two “t”s at the end of his name

The word ‘functionality’ needs to be banned.
Microsoft seems highly motivated to improve the quality of their vapor this year.
I have boiled the story down to its essence:
“is set…will detail…new announcements…wil be…is planning…will show off…believed to be…plans…will come later…will not show off…”
And there you have it. Get ready for more advanced vapor as the company gears up to increase their output of announcements.
Windows 8, ummm… Maybe a name change would be welcome.
Got it! Windows 8 is now RearVeiw 1. If you thought Vista had a view!
Teasing???? That’s like having a fat chick showing you her second chin.
Balmy Ballmer puts the “funk” in “functionality” …
How is he teasing it? Holding an iPad in front of it?
Please let there be a video of his address!!!!! I need a good laugh tonight!
W8 = wait
They always keep you waiting zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
My visions revealed Ballmer ends the same as Senator Stillson.
One bullet. One pistol.
I’m so excited. I can’t wait to hear his BS and his straight face when he mentions the word “innovate”. It’s enough to make BLN grow his missing “RN”. LOL
Do they really think consumers will wait?
Well, given the fact that MS waited until almost all if their mobile market share had been taken from them before releasing WP7. I don’t think we have a whole lot to worry about. ” width=”19″ height=”19″ alt=”smile” style=”border:0;” />
